"The worst time really for me was, when we were doing that first album, was that Lindsey had been writing World Turning and I really wanted… I was his girlfriend too, you know, so you’ve got to realize that made me extra sensitive. And I really wanted to help with the song and he turned away completely and asked Chris. And that was the worst night of me being in Fleetwood Mac, because I went out to the parking lot and sat in the car and cried because I couldn’t figure out why he would tell me no and tell her yes. And it wasn’t even Christine, it was Lindsey that I was really bummed with, because I was so hurt. Then I realized as the days and weeks went on after that, that if we were going to do this, I was going to have to share him a little bit. And I was going to have to back off, because Christine certainly, of all people, didn’t want to cause any trouble between Lindsey and me. Just her as a musician and singer and a really nice lady that was becoming a friend of Lindsey’s, probably the kind of friend that I never was, nor will I ever be… he could accept her in a lot of ways that he couldn’t accept me. Because I loved her, it was alright. If I hadn’t had liked Christine, it would have been impossible. I would have had to leave, because I would have been so jealous."

Bob Dylan isn't seeking song writing advice from Tom Petty.

Bob and Tom were part of the Travaling Wilburys.
along with Jeff Lynne,Roy Orbison and George Harrison. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traveling_Wilburys Great music from great classic artists. Also Dave Stewart was involve with them. If they could add a gal to the band at that time .They could of got Emmylou Harris .Dolly Parton,Linda Ronstadt or even Stevie. Lindsey could sit in and add some picking too.

I didn't know that we all know that. I believe the new album will be all new songs, no re-do's of previous work. If there is ever an updated box set, those EP songs should be featured on it.

this is old, but i don't remember reading that last part about him and Christine and how they work together. (if it was posted somewhere already, feel free to consolidate.)
http://www.k-hits.com/news/music-new...album-sessions Lindsey Buckingham sheds light on Fleetwood Mac album sessions Oct. 17, 2014 Prior to Fleetwood Mac hitting the road, Lindsey Buckingham spent time turning Christine McVie's recent piano and vocal demos into new Fleetwood Mac tracks, which will form the basis of the band's first new album with McVie in 27 years. Although Mac has released both a 2012 EP and 2003 album Say You Will in McVie absence, the fact remains that the group's last album with McVie -- 1987's Tango In The Night -- remains their biggest seller behind 1977's blockbuster, Rumours. Buckingham spoke about the new work to The Wall Street Journal and explained how this project is different than the rest: "Christine and I were able to concentrate on each other. We were exploring some new turf. That became enlightening to me. . . We never envisioned finishing the album in the short term. We set it aside. Stevie (Nicks) will come in and participate. I have material I had been working on. There’s no danger that it will slip between the tracks. It’s too profound to." As the two main instrumentalists for Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie shared a particularly unique bond -- one that was only strengthened over the years when Buckingham contributed so fiercely to the productions of her classic tracks for the band: "Christine and I, who are two musicians, who are every well grounded in their craft, have a kind of symmetry of respect and love for each other on a creative and a musical level. And I think that was a big part of that whole being greater than the sum of the parts was at that time. I could do for her -- I did for Stevie, too -- but the fact that she could fuse her sensibilities into my stuff and I could tap into what I do as a producer, say, and give back so much to her.” Fleetwood Mac tour dates (subject to change): October 18 - Toronto, ON - Air Canada Centre October 19 - Columbus, OH - Nationwide Arena October 21 - Indianapolis, IN - Bankers Life Fieldhouse October 22 - Auburn Hills, MI - The Palace Of Auburn Hills October 25 - Boston, MA - TD Garden October 26 - Ottawa, ON - Canadian Tire Centre October 29 - Philadelphia, PA - Wells Fargo Center October 31 - Washington, D.C. - Verizon Center November 1 - Hartford, CT - XL Center November 4 - Calgary, AB - Scotiabank Saddledome November 10 - Winnipeg, MB - MTS Centre November 12 - Saskatoon, SK - Credit Union Centre November 15 - Edmonton, AL - Rexall Place November 18 - Vancouver, BC - Rogers Arena November 20 - Tacoma, WA - Tacoma Dome November 22 - Portland, OR - Moda Center November 24 - Sacramento, CA - Sleep Train Arena November 25 - San Jose, CA - SAP Center At San Jose November 28, 29 - Inglewood, CA - The Forum December 2 - San Diego, CA - Viejas Arena December 3 - Oakland, CA - Oracle Arena December 6 - Inglewood, CA - The Forum December 10 - Phoenix, AZ - US Airways Center December 12 - Denver, CO - Pepsi Center December 14 - Dallas, TX - American Airlines Center December 15 - Houston, TX - Toyota Center December 17 - Atlanta, GA - Philips Arena December 19 - Sunrise, FL - BB&T Center December 20 - Tampa, FL - Tampa Bay Times Forum January 16 - Saint Paul, MN - Xcel Energy Center January 17 - Lincoln, NE - Pinnacle Bank Arena January 20 - Grand Rapids, MI - Van Andel Arena January 22 - New York, NY - Madison Square Garden Arena January 24 - Atlantic City, NJ - Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall January 25 - Uniondale, NY - Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum January 28 - Providence, RI - Dunkin' Donuts Center January 31 - Buffalo, NY - First Niagara Center February 3 - Toronto, ON - Air Canada Centre February 5 - Montreal, QC - Bell Centre February 7 - Uncasville, CT - Mohegan Sun Arena February 8 - Newark, NJ - Prudential Center February 11 - Des Moines, IA - Wells Fargo Arena February 12 - Milwaukee, WI - BMO Harris Bradley Center February 14 - Rosemont, IL - Allstate Arena February 17 - Louisville, KY - KFC Yum! Three of the four tracks -- the Lindsey Buckingham-written, "Sad Angel," "It Takes Time" and "Miss Fantasy," were co produced by Buckingham and studio veteran Mitchell Froom. The fourth track is a vintage Stevie Nicks song -- "Without You" -- which was produced by Buckingham and Nicks and is a remake of an early Buckingham Nicks track that was slotted for the duo's planned second album. The track was long forgotten by the pair until Nicks rediscovered the song via YouTube. Fleetwood Mac's last full-length studio album, Say You Will, was released on April 15th, 2003 and peaked at Number Three on the Billboard 200 album charts. Photo by PRPhotos.com

Thanks for this. If, as of October 2014, LB was saying Stevie will come in and participate, then that's a good sign...I hope.

many have talked to Mick and several have talked to LB since; last i've heard was november. they both said she was not on board but they were really hoping she will change her mind and join them, but if not, they may have to consider some other options. and then SN interview came out where she said she doesn't know whether she will be on board for new FM album / how she will feel about it eventually. and then there are tons of speculations and fairy tales being spun around. ![]()

Thanks for posting. I think I read somewhere that she took one of his instrumentals and put a melody and lyrics on it.
