Amber, I <3 you. That's where I was all day. At my sister's tournament. She's in 14U now, but they played in a 16U tournament (Nationals is next week ~ gotta prepare for those presure-cookers.

). To no one's suprise, they destroyed pretty much all of the 16U teams.

Your sister pitches? I think that year I was playing center field, and then shortstop when our shortstop pitched. Good stuff, good stuff.

Yeah, she's a really good pitcher. A lot of times coaches will get mad when they find out that their team just got their asses handed to them by a bunch of 8th graders and a 7th grader.

I'm sure you were the better shortstop.

That's awesome, pitching is really hard. Do you guys know her speed?

mmmm, we were about equal. She was older, though. She was really good, and pitching at, like, 70 mph when she was 12...

I was a bit quicker, but she had a bit better arm.

She throws about 55 mph I think. She's got average/above average speed for her age I guess.

Was this girl you played with named Lisa Fernandez by any chance?

70 is hard to throw for college girls, much less a 12 year old.

NO. That is really fast, your sister, actually.

Maybe it wasn't 70, but I think she was clocked at that. Maybe 65? It was really high.

I caught for her my first year, when I was 9. I dunno. Good luck to your sister!!!!
