I’ll take off my cape for you
I’ll take down my hair for you

Some carry a stiletto in their garter along with everything else that they carry

One tear slid across her lips
To the corner of her mouth
And dropped to the floor

You feel good
I said it's funny that you understood
I knew you would
When you were good
You were very, very good

(Maybe the winner: )
Very little love exists through the rain and the fog
In her always hanging mirror
(I always thought the word was "mist" but every lyrics site including the Nicksfix says "mirror." Either way it stinks.)

- Jake

Thanks for reminding me of that quote. It's a nice one. The one I had in mind, tho, was this, apparently from 'The Record' in 1982:

"Stevie’s very prolific," McVie notes. “She writes constantly, and all her songs are like babies to her, even though some of them are rubbish. When I write, I sit down and work on an idea until it’s finished, but Stevie cranks out songs all the time."

The whole interview (it's with just Lindsey and Chris, I think) is in the Blue Letter archives, here (hope this link works).

Oh, I know, I wasn't trying to correct you, I agree with both you and Christine True, some of Stevie's words would give an English teacher a heart attack but if they mean something to her, I think that is what counts. This thread is a laugh and I know it's lighthearted

The link does work and thankyou! I'd not seen that interview before

Well, there must have been some reason Lindsey couldn't get over her for all those years. And he did say the sex was great...

I love the song Fall From Grace, but I don't really like the lyric "Not all the kings horses, not all the kings men could put it back together."

I almost always think she's going to say 'put it back together again.' Lol, and then I'm like no, it's not a nursery rhyme..

Well then you will love this one! (I actually really love this song, but I get your angst toward the lyrics). Here are two different demos of it tho, because I think both are amazing! Especially the line, "I remember when I was the only one you'd ever love."

I actually like this song, this is actually one of those rare ones I have never heard until now of Stevie's! Maybe it was the title of the song..

I'd check all the pockets for $100 bills.

OMG that drives me insane! Not that the lyric is bad, but just how she always changes it! It makes it impossible to sing along to because you never know which one is going to fly out of her mouth!

I like the couplet "I'll take off my cape for you / I'll let down my hair for you" from I Sing for the Things.

To me, the worst lyrics are in Welcome to the Room, Sara.

I disagree. "When you hang up that phone, well you cease to exist." ****ing love it!
