I just think about the people in my building that complained because people (not me - I do not smoke at work - it really is just a weekend thing and not even that often) were smoking like 50 yards from the door, they were going to get cancer that very day with the three seconds of exposure from 50 yards away. I despise smoking- it reeks and is nazzty as all hell. However, if a restaurant were to allow smoking in every corner of it's establishment I just wouldn't patronize them.
Smoking on a plane is just about the grossest thing I can thing of same for a hotel room - though I have done both

I'm a researcher and writer who works with non-profits and school districts. I write grant proposals that create afterschool programs and early childhood education programs and similar programs for low-income, or otherwise disadvantaged children. I work from home and I'm on the internet almost constantly doing research or actual writing for various projects so I log a lot of time in from of the computer. And I take "mental health" breaks to check out The Ledge (and Ebay).

Also, I get that second hand smoke is bad and all of that, but if it is that bad for you then do not go. The problem is with the work staff - but there again, get another job

Hopefully, this post will not encite Strand hate
But don't forget, no one has a constitutional right to a bar that permits smoking, either.

I'm wondering about this. I have a friend who smokes occasionally, only when she's writing. She says it helps her to write. How does one only smoke occasionally and never become addicted? I have never done it, so I have no clue whatsoever.

I might as well admit it. When I’m not posting I pick my nose.

Keep in mind that it's a matter of consideration and common decency. No one should be forced to endure second-hand smoke anywhere, it's a health issue. People should have enough manners to take it outside when they're in a restaurant or a bar. We don't **** where we eat (hopefully), so we shouldn't smoke where we eat, either.

Default When I'm Not on the Ledge...

I'm working. Teaching lessons, riding horses. Being outside at the barn with the horses is my favorite thing to do.

Ugh, my mom smokes, and we always make her go outside. Not only is it unhealthy for her AND us, but it stinks up the house, and leave nasty stains all over the ceiling and walls. I could puke thinking about it....

I would love to work in a toy store. Kids don't get on my nerves at all.

What are you going to study?
