I think that thing in his hand belongs to him. I don't know if it's a purse or what, but ... honestly.

Found this interesting article that talks to and about Stevie a little bit. How he nurtured her through the making of Bella Donna, Jimmy Iovine, and how to get the album from #3 to #1 on Billboard he pimped her out one night. Ok, I exaggerate that part, but it does say the album was #3 and he took her to dinner with a writer from Billboard and then, whaddayaknow, her album went to #1. The author of *this* article clearly implies that Morris knew that would do the trick.

In 1980, Morris was named president of Atlantic. He applied his new skills to stars like Nicks, whom he signed as a solo artist. He called her every day as she was recording Bella Donna, her first record. When things didn’t go well with her producer, Morris recruited 26-year-old Jimmy Iovine, who’d worked on records with Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty. Nicks was ecstatic when Bella Donna reached No. 3 on the Billboard charts. “In numerology, three is the number of the creative, of the beginning, the child,” she says. It wasn’t enough for Morris, though. He took Nicks, possibly the most alluring woman in rock ’n’ roll at the time, out to dinner with a writer from Billboard. One week later, her album went to No. 1.

I've heard this story before, but I wonder how many people actually believe it. Billboard magazine is the top trade publication in the industry, and its credibility is critical for the business. It's been reporting on radio and music since the 1920s (after being founded in the 1890s ), and if this sort of thing really went on, well....I would expect there would be other stories besides Stevie's 1981 album. Has anyone else heard any?

It's the old "post hoc ergo propter hoc" fallacy... Assuming this dinner date even actually occurred.

Yes, you can't just falsify sales and radio airplay results to put whatever you want at #1. This writer had bosses he had to report to, didn't he? Also, a writer probably worked in an entirely different department than the people in charge of Billboard chart stats .

It would make more sense to say people bribed radio station execs and djs (which we know did happen in the past) or, later, bribed the person in charge of rotation at MTV to help their album sales, but I honestly don't think a Billboard writer could get you number one on the charts.

She can wear the same clothes she wore yesterday and still have everyone on the red carpet in the palm of her hand because she's just that damn good.

I wouldn't suggest Gucci , but a younger designer with a fresh approach to her ,maybe just to dress up the "KARL LAGERFELD" fingerless gloves

The magazine has regained its mojo in the last five years. It went through a period where it lost some credibility because of the silly rules they were making up (e.g. a song can't chart without a commercial single, a rule that existed for 10 years and then was abandoned). They were also very late to start tracking sales from digital media.

Yes. The comparison to Stevie was lazy, IMO. And probably prompted more by how many times people read her being described as "witchy" than any actual consideration of her body of work. Although I find Ozzy/Marilyn comparisons problematic in about the same way. To me it was just kind of a "meh" performance all around, but I enjoyed the spectacle. I think Katy was just trying to invoke Stevie to be friendly, but it was a bit forced.

Out of pure curiosity, why is a red cross sacrelige? I'm a nonreligious person and just honestly didn't know it was.

As for the outfit, she looks fine. Not great. But it was obvious she had short notice and really just wanted to project her persona at a mainstream event, rather than do anything fashion-forward or particularly exciting. I don't really see the big deal, but I appreciate the fans desire to have her always look amazing/interesting. It's just not particularly important to me, as someone who plans his outfits about 2 minutes before going anywhere.

Thank you! I'm sorry but, as much as I love Stevie, she really annoys me at times. She is always singing the praises of people like Katy Perry and Beyonce. Really Stevie? These ladies are style over substance. Bey's opening performance, what the hell was that? Singing about eating one's private parts ... Illuminati symbolism everywhere ... horrible. The state of the music industry today is the worst it has ever been.

Why do we need Stevie to share our opinions on everything? She has historically liked all kinds of things that I consider crap. Has anyone actually sat down and watched that old Beauty and the Beast film, or Wide Sargasso Sea? Or slept with Joe Walsh? I don't see why our differing opinions on these things should bother me as a fan.

Regarding the state of the music industry today vs. yesteryear, that's difficult to quantify. We have selective memories that can deceive us. IMO the music industry has been full of insubstantial crap since it became an "industry" in the first place.

I think she looks adorable. Look how cute her legs look in those rouched pants. That's a hard style to pull off unless you are in pretty good shape.
I think that her diamond (??) necklace is her statement to being dressed up and out for a fancy evening.

I think I rather see Stevie hanging around with Tony Bennett,Tony Orlando or some other order artists.
Its Stevie's life .She can hang with anybody she chooses.

I cant say to much about todays tunes because I 'm not into them. Most of those artists on the show that I never heard of before .

It was nice to see some of the true classic music makers on the show.I wish they can teach these young artists to sing with out auto tune and write good tunes like they did years ago.

I totally agree that she looks stunning and she's glowing.

On one hand I think it is so cool that she doesn't care the least what others think or wear, she does her own thing and it works perfectly for her. She seems comfortable and that adds to her beauty opposed to feeling uncomfortable in something that is not "her".

On the other hand it would be nice to see her in something else that we have not seen her wear 25 times before. I think she looks great in the dress she's wearing on the cover of the IYD album. I also like the black dress she had own while touring with Tom Petty.

I know that she is super loyal to her people and would probably not ask anyone but Margie to design clothes for her, but I would LOVE to see someone like Elie Saab design something for her. Something black, something lace, something chic yet rock n' roll and I bet it would be something that would definately flatter her figure.

I quickly skimmed through the Grammy's tape and ET from last night.I did not see anything about Stevie on the shows. Or maybe I went to fast. I did not check the Extra and Access Hollywood recordings yet.

I fell asleep and missed OMG/Insider so I dont know if she was on that shows Grammy wrapup.

I figure she can plug AHS on the shows if she was on them.
