Help me out here guys and gals and I say this with the truest sincerity...Does the general consensus just agree that overall IYD is a better album than TISL as this thread indicates or is it just that the people that prefer TISL aren't participating? I know I'm in the minority here and again, please don't be mad at me because this is not a dis of IYD I just find myself more attached to the TISL songs because I have so many memories and emotions involved with that album over the last 10 years and only a couple of weeks worth with IYD. Am I not being objective in terms of what a good song is and purely acting purely on emotions? Probably so but I'm wondering if anyone else feels this way or understands what I'm saying. Again, I know it's all a matter of taste but maybe my in skewed due to my undying attachment to TISL lol. Maybe in 2 years from now I will feel differently and be able to compare them fairly but right now it's really difficult. I just had to say that b/c it's been on my mind all day and I really felt like I had to force myself to vote for some of the IYD songs.

Why "force" yourself to vote for a song on IYD that you like less than one on TISL?What I think alot of people myself included are responding to may be the overall consistency of the production of IYD.IMO it holds together better than TISL as a complete album where there were too many cooks in the kitchen.The high points on TISL pretty much equal anything on IYD IMO.They are both very good albums.

Its weird, I started to make a thread like this a few days ago except I tried to maych up according to categories like the obvious Fall From Grace vs. Ghosts are Gone (straight ahead rockers) ironically i also matched up Planets and WSS (secondary rockers) I had to make some stretches for some comparisons but I was able to do 12 matchups and then the remaining 2 left got matched up. But anyways I put a lot of thought into it but forgot to copy my whole post before submitting it and I got signed out in that time and it was lost :Frown: maybe Ill remake it when this thread fizzles out.

And my computer never ceases to amaze me, It wont let me hit the Bold key or any of those keys next to it so I'll be writing my winners in all caps.

I like more individual songs on IYD than on TISL, but I much prefer TISL as a whole. IYD seems choppy whereas I feel like TISL's songs go so perfectly together.

As of today I still like TISL better. IYD might grow on me.
