OF COURSE they are rock songs. No Blondie isn't hard rock or whatever but they are still rock and roll musicians. They are in the R&R Hall of Fame, not the elevator music hall of fame.

Madonna has mentioned that Debbie was one of her idols in the 80's & 90's, and while she was recording ''Hard Candy'' she listened to lots of Debbie's solo stuff & Blondie. Plus the influence that D.H. had on her is pretty obvious. Read more in the link below, both are very aware of each other.

Ahh, thank you for the link I still see no quote where Madonna cites her as an influence, even Debbie says she didn't pave the way for her.

Perhaps Blondie just seems too commercial to me be rock, the hits that is. Very pop based music, lyrically and otherwise. Where as EO17 for instance, isn't. Also, Stevie's voice is much more raw, much like Ann's. I never said that Debbie isn't one of the all time greats, I just stand by my opinion that she is in no way the queen of rock.

Stevie is by far the Queen of Rock. Tina Turner is not rock. And yes Ann Wilson has an amazing voice and Debbie Harry did a lot with Blondie, however, Stevie has many things everyone else lacks. Stevie not only has a successful career as the front woman of Fleetwood Mac, she also has a successful solo career that blows everyone elses out of the water. Secondly, she may not have Ann's range, but she still has an amazing unique voice. Stevie also has her own very original and recognizeable style. She also has a very enchanting stage presence and is an amazing poet. All these women are amazing in their own ways, but Stevie tops them all because she is the total package. She was dubbed the reigning Queen of Rock in 1981, and in my opinion she still holds that crown.

Ahh I knew I had one! On the back of Cathay Che's biography of Debbie, Platinum Blonde, there's a quote from Madonna

"I was hugely influenced by Debbie Harry when I started out as a singer and songwriter. I thought she was the coolest chick in the universe."

I'm done now, I promise. Talking about Madonna makes me feel physically sick

Very good explanation you got there!

Just because Tina Turner is more of an R&B and pop singer than a rock singer doesn't necessarily mean she isn't bad. Hell, I think I said once, in response to all these different articles that say that 3 of my favorite bands, Van Halen, Guns N' Roses, and AC/DC, were metal bands, I think I said that they weren't metal, but just very good hard rock.

Ok, cool!

Not sure why, but I've always loved Madonna, she is still the Queen of Pop right?

Queen of rock is Stevie to me.Queen of country is Tammy Wynnette or Loretta Lynn , not Carrie Underwood or Taylor Swift .no way ,
I think that Pat Benatar should be on the top,but Madonna to my is not rock. on the other hand Linda Ronstadt should be on the top too,This girl can sing anything she could be the queen of any music gender.Todays tunes stink ,Today we have a queen of *****.like mentioned below.

Thumbs up

If Stevie doesn't win it better go to Ann Wilson! it's that simple.

Stevie better win. And she better be on the cover. She hasn't been on a cover in too long.

Stevie's already been dubbed the Queen of Rock by one of the biggest RnR magazines, atleast in the US. Just sayin.
