Thanks for the update Chris. I hope the media doesn't start assuming incorrectly with the meth usage. A friend of mine who has undergone innumerable operations takes that for pain as issued by a painclinic. There is often a stigma in relation to that medication and due to people's ignorance they only see the addiction relief aspect of that medication. I do not know what his reasons are for the usage but I can only hope that this isn't more foder for the rabids to chew about.

As Howard's last cnn words were a request to pray for Anna Nicole, I hope everyone will take the moment.

as someone who was on Lexapro last spring (For obvious depressive reasons) I can tell you that **** messes with your head bigtime.

Both Deb & my sister Lesa (Who both are nurses) noticed it turned me into a near zombie, So much it frightened both of 'em. That **** increased the intercranial pressure on me, thus my headaches were 10 times worse than they already were, not to mention it give me a "dont give a f**k" attitude, and a somewhat suicidal attitude (Sad to admit, but I did have thoughts about it.)

Once I ran out of the current prescription I made the decision to not get it renewed, seemed I felt better after about 2-3 weeks.

I will never take Lexapro again, And I suggest anyone who may have it prescribed to them be VERY VERY careful.

I've known people who took those and definitely had a change in personality, for the worse, like from nice to mean. I've also known one or two people who seemed to do well on them. I don't understand why they prescribe in combination. Since they all basically do the same thing, isn't that overload?

When I heard about the other man, the conspiracy theorist streak in me came out and I wondered for a second if Daniel faked his own death to get out of the Anna limelight. Don't flame me or hate me for these thoughts crossing my mind or sharing them... they're just fleeting type things that make some people go "hhmmm...." -

Now I'm totally curious to see Howard's face on the King show since I missed it. I can't find it on You Tube or anywhere. If anyone can find it, please post.

I am sure there will be further investigation with regard to how Daniel obtained the meds. I believe that meth is prescribed with what is termed as a "triplicate" prescript a tad more controlled then a regular prescription. If they can trace that, they may find some information. The only problem that could occur is that often people have a few doctors so it is possible that he received a prescript from different doctors and may well have obtained at different pharmacys as well; therefore they may not be able to come to the conclusion there was a specific individual's negligence involved. There is also the possibility that he was given the medication from someone else. All too tragic. If any good could from this it would be that peeps are enlightened to the dangers with drug mixtures and there is hope it would save a life/lives. No prob on the thoughts. It just occurred to me that with the statements of Howard's (that I found odd and posted on earlier) that Daniel said he wasn't tired and then was saying why am i so tired makes me wonder if perhaps someone, upon Daniel's initial comment of I'm not tired, may have offered him something (e.g. "here, this will put you to sleep.) It is only natural to have these thoughts when something happens such as this.

Thanks for posting that. I had a darn time getting it to run at all with my antivirus and firewall... weird. He did look a bit disheveled. Man, I know people whose lives are like that, just one big drama after another and I really feel bad for them. I couldn't handle it at all.

I'm confused about his medication combination as well. Zoloft and Lexapro are both antidepressants and not two I've ever heard of being taken together. Methadone is very rarely prescribed for pain- you have to have a pretty serious illness or injury. There is nothing wrong with taking it for substance abuse, you just need to be highly monitored.

Can this perhaps mean that he was already addicted / treated for addiction to heroin? That's usually the reason why they perscribe methadone. I wouldn't know whether they perscibe it for injuries, since it is highly addictive (and difficult to detox from).

Daniel may have got the drugs off the street, which is pretty damn easy.

There are doctors "to the stars" who prescibe drugs for cash.

When Daniel said he wasn't tired and then minutes later said he was tired, makes sense now. Those drugs mixed together can make you anxious one minute and then tired the next.

my mom was prescribed methadone after hip replacement surgery~ no other pain meds would wrk in her recovery & methadone quickly did the trick & she had a more speedy recovery w/ it~ i personally don't think daniel was a recovering addict~ when i saw cyril wecht on catherine crier he acted as if this was prolly given due to some back pain daniel had been suffering for some time~

supposed to take any other anti-depressants with Lexapro. Seems that would only intensify the effect that the anti-depressant would cause.

Methadone is used to bring drug-users off of their habit, why would someone be taking Methadone when they are depressed? Methadone causes pain, due to the withdrawals from the drugs that one are abusing.

Given his age I would assume the methadone was prescribed for drug addiction. Drug addiction causes depression. He likely had 2 separate doctors for each issue. Maybe even 3. Unfortunately it is easy for famous people to get drugs and not really think about them.

Would it be so surprising that the son of ANS was a drug addict? I don't think so. And I don't think we should make moral judgements on addicts. I think under certain circumstances anyone can become an addict. Like having a mother too self-absorbed to really be there for you, with a permissive attitude, plus having money, and access.

that many in the world have, more than 1 doctor prescribing meds for different ailments. That in turn can cause major problems with drug interactions and possible side effects (ala Terrell Owens).

Hell, I even had 2 different doctors opinions on my recent MRI, one doc said "Nothing to worry about, It isnt cancer...yaddayaddablahblah", while the other said "You DEFINITELY need to be worried about the result." Wanna guess doctors opinion I went with?

Plus, he was a teenager and that genre tends to experiment with drugs and its not like pot when we were kids (oh the days ) - there are far more things out there.

"straight edge" before it was ever considered cool (Straight edge lifestyle: No drugs, no alcohol & no sex) because I never fell into experimenting like my older siblings did (Who now regret it).

I didnt go out of my way to be that way ("straight edge"), but my brothers are at least 4 years older than me, And I saw them FUBAR'd (F**ked Up Beyond All Recognition) so maybe that effect scared me into my choice-Maybe I just wanted to be different and not be compared to my siblings. Who knows?
