They did that to me too. Just tell them you're going to psychoanalyze them when you get your degree if they don't shut up!

If it's what you love then do it. If it's something you're passionate about then don't listen to anyone except your own heart and gut. Just having the degree helps with any career you choose.

I kind of stress out easily so school was very rough on me. I literally couldn't take it anymore. But that doesn't mean you'll feel the same way. If you can, plan to go on to grad school. Good luck!

If you're stroong everywhere else, don't worry about it. My point is, don't let the GRE stand in your way of thinking about grad school.
Yeah, and it really depends on the program you get into. My program was in foreign languages so the quantitative section of the GRE was basically moot to my area of study, and the verbal section wasn't really any kind of barometer either, even though I did MUCH better on that than quantitative. My advisor was like, "just take the GRE and don't worry about the score" so that was cool, but some departments really put a lot of stock into GRE scores .

But Jannie, 724 verbal is outstanding! Way to go!

Everyone had to take stats. If you went BA, the math stopped after stats.
I can't recall if research methods was a requirement or not.....I "think" it was...

Hey Brad - if anyone here ever says "Brad blah blah blah etc." will you answer them and say "That's Dr. Brad to you!"
It would be so very amusing for me.
I can't wait till my bf gets her PhD, so I can say "Dr. Rain, blah blah blah etc!"

Suze answered it well when she said if it's something you love, you need to go for it. The best advice *I* have is that you must go into it knowing you will have to have an advanced degree. I knew going in that I would at least have to have a masters, if not a PhD (which is what my professors were pushing me to go for). It's not as easy a degree as some would believe (see previous post on Statistics and Research Methods), but I loved every minute of it. The reason I am getting my masters in Social Work is because as a Clinical Social Worker I can do exactly what I want to do. I thought I HAD to be a psychologist in order to provide counseling, work with the mentally ill, etc., but I don't.

Good luck- I say, go for it!

Haha! Really, that's going to be such an adjustment actually hearing people refer to me as "doctor" and seeing it in writing. I feel like a kid playing dressup with my coat and instruments! And I have a friend who for the past year or so has refused to call me anything but "Dr. Bradley." I prefer to let everyone continue to refer to me as "jackass" as if nothing has changed!

I'm not sure our systems use the same terms so I'll just translate how it's called here: a graduate degree in Humanistic Sciences with a specialization in Theatre and Cinema History section.
