Sorcerer is a Stevie Nicks song and it is a Stevie Nicks video. It is not a stretch to believe that she was involved in the editing process for her own music video.

So yeah, Thank You, God, and in my opinion -
Yeah - we could have lost her.
And not to harp on it but the Stand Back Today Show appearance,
from what little I can see, I admit -
was all an act. By the way I forgot something about that -
this was 5:30 in the morning for her. I doubt she had even slept.
One starts to feel tired under these conditions. . . .
And just a tiny, little tug, of needing a little bit of an energy boost.
And it wouldn't have been pretty.
And it wouldn't have been nice.
And it would have been painful.

"It was one for you...it was three for me
It was very nice...it was everything
So here it is...in little pieces...
I just played the part...I didn't win or lose
Maybe next time I'll think about how I'm feeling...
"Cause I'm doing the best that I can
And the whispered secrets...go on and on
No one says anything to anyone
You watch after her...and your word is law
She thought she was out there...but nobody saw.
In my distress...well I wanted someone to blame me
In my devastation...I wanted so to change
In my way(ve)...dis-aster was the only thing that I could depend on...
But it's alright, baby...I'm doing the best that I can."

Trust me or don't trust me,
believe me or don't -
this was a close thing. . . .
She's strong, yeah.
But everybody has limits.
And maybe I'm over-estimating it,
in fact, I flat-out admit I probably am.
My real point is -
please don't under-estimate it.

She's an actress -
we'll never
really
know.

Where's Mari's avatar "nobody expects the Spanish inquisition" when one needs it?

what's the problem here? she needs to stay creative in a very stressing environment, anyone who's been in this situation would tell that you weed is the answer.

oh, and it's ok to come high to the editing, the main thing is not to smoke before shooting, coz then your eyes look terrible, and it gets more difficult remembering your lines and timing. a very stupid thing to do, so stevie, if you read this: learn from others' mistakes, don't do it.

I don't believe in spirits who overflow with kindness, but if that's your way to say that moral judgements expressed on suspects and half truths makes you uncomfortable too... okay.

Now don't yell at me, anyone, but I wish Stevie had got high for the filming of "Live In Boston." I would have bought myself a copy of it.

I find myself responding emotionally & spiritually to Stevie only when she is bombed on something or other. I find her "trueness" shines through unencumbered by social masks.

I believe Stevie is definitely a spirit who overflows with kindness. We just have different religions, Romy. I just think the kindness in Stevie is practically palpable. It colors her every word & deed.

A spirit who overflows with kindness but needs to be on something to be true to your eyes? I don't see the human beings behind this philosophy, honestly, but after all, that wasn't my time.

But the fact of the matter is, Stevie has never (that I've ever heard or read) criticized others for doing drugs or drinking. All she's ever related, is how doing drugs affected HER and that maybe someone out there can learn from what she's been through and save themselves that heartache.

I don't see how that makes her a hypocrite.

And folks are making it sound like she was out there doing PSAs to stop smoking. She talked about the fact that she quit smoking in, what, three or four interviews around the same time-period. And said that if she, of all people, could quit smoking, then there's hope for others who know that they should quit smoking. She never made it sound like she was better than anyone else because she had quit, and anyone who felt she did, was just being hyper-critical (or hyper-sensitive).

And if she has "relapsed" and is smoking again, well, that's life. People are weak. Stevie included.
I don't smoke. Never have, never plan to. And sometimes it's hard for me to understand why someone NEEEEDS that cigarette. But people do.
And I've seen friends and loved ones struggle for long periods of time with trying to quit. Going through the phases of "I'm never going to smoke again" to the "I just need this one cigarette to get through Uncle Jack's funeral" to "I know I shouldn't have started again, but I am trying to quit," several times over.

Sometimes it takes a while for something like that to stick.
But, again, I see a lot of value in someone who knows FIRSTHAND what kind of a stranglehold that particular addiction can have on you, suggesting to others that they should try to quit, too.

It's sure better than you or me or AliP telling people how we feel about smoking, when we have absolutely no idea what that addiction is like.

And for the record, and with no disrepect meant to anyone, but I'll believe that Stevie is smoking again, when someone produces photographic proof that she is.
Seems like the least we can do before we pass judgement on someone, huh?

you do have a point there, but pot is not exactly a drug to do a performance on, and i wouldn't wish her back on the gold dust, as appealing as it may be artistically speaking, i rather have her alive.

She's only human, but the fact that a rock star is giving interview after interview about how horrible drugs and cigarettes are, how no one should use them, and then turns around to indulge in such substances herself is laughable. It must be nice for her to sit on such a high horse. If she can't refrain from using such things, she shouldn't open her big mouth to lecture others on using them.

but is marijuana really the same kind of drug as coke?
cocaine and cigarettes are far more life-threatening than weed... so is alcohol.. unless of course Stevie is getting high and then going out and cruising around Phoenix in that Porsche she bought from "Risky Business"

but seriously... I don't think she's being a hypocrite by talking about quitting cigarettes and coke and klonopin (3 highly addictive substances), while still continuing to smoke pot...

My only problem with her continuing to smoke marijuana is that she tends to light up on opening nights when she's on tour (and a select few other shows)... which causes her to put on lethargic, lifeless peformances... Stevie please, if you need to relax before a show, get a massage or something... Your fans don't like it when you perform "Stand Back" and not twirl or move from the mic and just stand there with your hair up..

I never said she did. I don't think anyone else in this thread did, either.

I think it's hypocritical for someone who may still be using drugs (even if it is just weed) after they've claimed to be clean to lecture others via interviews about how bad drugs are and not to make the mistake of using them. If you've stopped using them, then by all means go out and warn others about them. But shut your piehole if you're still smoking weed after numerous drug addictions and two stints in rehab.

I don't really care whether she lights up or not, it's no skin off my ass. I just find it silly that she can warn others not to use drugs with a straight face if she's still partaking in them. That's just my opinion.

Meh, I don't care if she's smoking Kools again. It's her voice and lungs that she's ruining.

I always giggle when I hear someone who is still a smoker or a user telling others not to follow in their footsteps. As true as the sentiment might be, it rings hollow coming from them and makes them look (and sound) pathetic.

This whole thread has mostly been conjecture, just like most topics involving Stevie. But I agree with you.
