Default Has anyone made...

a mix CD of fave Fleetwood Mac songs? It's really hard to do! There's too much to choose from and there are so many songs that I've yet to hear. But I made one a few months ago with this tracklisting-

1) Angel
2) Forever
3) Never Going Back Again
4) That's Alright
5) Sunny Side of Heaven
6) Gypsy
7) Talkin' To My Heart
8) Sara
9) Hold Me
10) Child of Mine
11) The Ledge
12) Everywhere
13) I Know I'm Not Wrong
14) Miles Away
15) Beautiful Child
16) Miranda
17) Brown Eyes
18) I Don't Want to Know
19) Like Crying (from Blue Horizon box set)
20) Underway (anyone as crazy about this one as I am?)

Then I realized that I didn't include "Why" and "No Questions Asked" and concluded that "I must have...I must have been CRAZY!"

I would replace "Brown Eyes" with "Why." I'm also not sure why I included "I Don't Want to Know." It probably isn't worth of a top 20 or anything.

I wish I had more blues-era, but I don't know as much of it, comparatively. So my CD wasn't all that balanced.

You know some people are going to have to kill you for not including any pre-BN FM!

I didn't know you were such a big "Nights in Estoril" fan. That is a really beautiful song.

EDIT: Meant to ask...BN or White Album version of "Crystal"?

Eh, tough tacos. I like the Welch and McVie stuff, but I can leave the rest.

Best song on Time. I'm a big fan of her songs from Tango to Time, anyway, I thought she was at her best during that time.

Is that you're not really a fan of blues music, or you don't really like FM's particular blues music?

Not a fan of FM's. It bores me to tears.

Toss a good chunk of the Stevie songs and that's one helluva compilation. I think I may have to pilfer it for myself, thankyouverymuch.

I don't usually make single-artist mix CDs for myself, because I tend to prefer just to listen to the albums, but I don't think I could possibly make one for Fleetwood Mac even if I tried. At the very least, it would have to be two discs, and I don't know if I could put Green and post-Green tunes on the same CD. It seems like such a different aesthetic, I don't know how I'd make it work. But maybe I'll try it someday soon and report back then.

I tried to make a FM mix, but discovered I couldn't do it. So I had to make seperate mixes by each of the singers - Lindsey, Stevie, Christine, and Billy - that included solo material as well as Mac. Lindsey's original mix was two discs long, but I pared it down to one so I could listen to it on my discman.

Lindsey
The Chain (The Dance)
Come (Live in Boston)
Doing What I Can
Frozen Love
Gift of Screws
Go Insane (The Dance)
Go Your Own Way (The Dance)
I'm So Afraid (The Dance)
Murrow's Turning Over In His Grave (GOS)
Peacekeeper (the version on the SYW bonus disc, not the awful studio version)
Shuffle Riff (or whatever you want to call this one)
Someone's Gotta Change Your Mind
Steal Your Heart Away (GOS)
This is the Time
Twist of Fate

Billy
Highway of Love
Heart to Call Home
Talkin' to My Heart
The Edge of Love
The Bigger the Love
Life and Death
Into the Storm
Hard Feelings
I Still Remember How to Miss You
When the Sun Goes Down
I Got It in for You
The Light of Love
I Got Busted
In the Back of My Mind (with Mick's stupid "I know what it's like" sh*t edited out)
Don't Say No
When It Comes to Love
Too Much Information
Walk With Me
Burnin' Up
Better Days (really a Bekka song, but it's from Bekka and Billy)

Stevie
Beautiful Child
Planets of the Universe (the demo, not the piece of sh*t from TISL)
Battle of the Dragon
Sleeping Angel
Everybody Finds Out
Silver Springs (The Dance)
Freedom
Say You Will
Reconsider Me
No Questions Asked
Illume
Smile At You (demo - not the annoying SYW version)
Without You
Thrown Down
At Last
Cathouse Blues
Welcome to the Room... Sara
Somebody Stand by Me

Christine
Did You Ever Love Me?
Heroes Are Hard to Find
Hold Me
Wish You Were Here
Roll With Me Henry
The Challenge
So Excited
One in a Million
Who's Dreaming this Dream?
The Smile I Live For
Little Lies
Isn't it Midnight
As Long as You Follow (best CM song ever!)
Behind the Mask
When It Comes to Love
Love Shines
Heart of Stone
All Over Again

Three "disclaimers" before I list my songs:

1) I do these all the time, so this isn't a one-time deal;
2) It has nothing to do with "favorites", it's more about mixing familiar songs with songs that I don't know so well (e.g. Mick's solo stuff, Rick Vito's solo stuff, etc.) and the result is "all over the place";
3) I do some of them (including the one below) on cassette so that I can use vinyl when I need to (I listen to these on the treadmill usually, with a walkman).

I just did my fifth tape the other day. This is an example of a variety tape I do (although I've done really good ones for the various members). Again, this is all over the place. Please don't think I'm just a horrible mixer! I literally choose songs at random (only criteria is that it's Fleetwood Mac-related and that I haven't used it on a previous tape).

Tape 5:
Crying in the Night
Cool Water (Mirage-era B-side)
Flee - Jeremy Spencer Band (Flee album)
Let Me On - Christine Perfect
Mind of My Own - Show Biz Blues Vol. 2
Born Enchanter - Heroes...
Sweet Girl - The Dance
Closing My Eyes - Then Play On
Born Under A Bad Sign - Peter Green solo (Blues for Dhyana)
Say We'll Meet Again - Lindsey (OOC)
Lazy Poker Blues - Mr. Wondeful
Farewell - Vaudeville Years
Walk Another Mile - Rick Vito (King of Hearts)

Cat Dancers - Sandy Stewart (Stevie backing vocals)
I Give - Mick Fleetwood's Zoo (I'm Not Me)
Close To Me - Chicken Shack (The Collection)
Get Like You Used To Be - Chicken Shack (Best of)
Easy To Fall - Bob Welch (French Kiss)
Sable On Blond - Stevie
Gold Dust Woman #1 - Rumours reissue
Behind The Mask - Behind the Mask
The Super-Natural - John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers (Peter Green song from the Hard Road album)
Dragonfly - Best of Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac
Hollywood - from Time

I'll log on tomorrow to see if you guys bash me (I'm a newbie here - please be gentle) or if you think it's cool!
