I love music that makes me ache. No angst, no pain - no love.

Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley (covering Leonard Cohen)
Sanvean - Dead Can Dance
Little Sister - Concrete Blonde
Over You - Sheryl Crow (very ex-boyfriend specific)
River - Joni Mitchell
Doll Parts - Hole
Everybody Hurts - REM
Feel - Robbie Williams
Cherry Popsicle - Jann Arden
My Immortal - Evanescence

And of course,
Mistaken Love - Stevie

My friend owns a building and was showing some office space in it on the 8th floor. There's a rooftop patio just outside the office that was accessible from it. But it has no guard railings around it. Just an open area. So, this couple was viewing the space and had their cute little fluffy dog with them. They let the dog out on the patio and it got all excited and ran out onto the patio. As it reached the edge of the roof, it started putting on its breaks but was going to fast and fell off the edge to its death. My friend Blake ran down the stairs to pick up the body while the bewildered owners basically stood in absolute shock. Can you imagine? Sorry you guys. I shouldn't have even told that story. Terrible, eh? This happened like a week ago.
awwww how sad, i have a mini dacshund & that would just kill me ~

Right now there's three that get repeated playings:

The Carpenters: "Rainy Days And Mondays"
Abba: "The Day Before You Came"
Joy Division: "The Eternal".

Joy Division...they are masters of the sad song. I think "Don't Walk Away (in silence)" is one of the saddest songs ever written.

Default Sadly...sad songs

I've gone through the previous posts and there are some listed that I also would have mentioned but when I think sad...
I think really sad like:
Taps- in a echo/foggy cemetary
Amazing Grace (probably at the same funeral)
Funeral for a Friend-Elton John

Maybe not quite as sad but thought provoking:
Weather Channel-Sheryl Crowe
The Kick Inside-Kate Bush- old tune but very poignant
Dreams I'll Never See-Allman Brothers
Tin Pan Alley-Stevie Ray Vaughn
Angel from Montgomery-Bonnie Rait
and from our favorites:

I'll so Afraid- Lindsey-pretty deep lyrics, I think
You'll never make me cry-Christine (and I think he did)
and Stevie- although it is unrealeased-Forest of the Black Roses and /or Mistaken Love (but someone already mentioned that tune)
Any way there are some that make me feel rather sad

Going to listen to it right now. Doesn't ring a bell, but I have that album and love it! I can't believe I can't think of the song. LOVE EMMYLOU!!!
