I think Ann knows what gets a reaction and says it. I wonder if she really believes what she's saying. I find it hard to believe that anyone intelligent could hold some of the extremist views she holds. It's an embarrassment to conservatives.

I feel the same way about Michael Moore sometimes, that he's an embarrassment to liberals. This whole experience has taught me a thing or two about extremism, if nothing else. I'm sorry if there are a lot of Michael Moore fans on here; maybe he's not as bad as Ann, but he strikes me as being along those lines.

He's nowhere near as bad as Ann the Man, not even in the slightest. She doesn't believe that women should vote. She supports public flogging. She thinks people should be taxed at the polls. She once got into an on-air fight with a disabled Vietnam veteran and told him that it was men who like him who made us lose that war. She thinks children should be armed with guns. She wants to invade Muslim countries, kill Muslim leaders, and convert the people into Christians. If anyone can show me a position of Moore's that is anywhere near as wacky and ridiculous as one of hers, I'll kiss your ass six ways to Sunday.

Does anyone out there really make extremism look good, and logical, for that matter? He can be so condescending. At the moment, that's the only thing I can think of that really bothers me about him, but I'm sure there's more.

The truth is condescending when you're trying to show it to stupid and/or ill-informed people.

Ann the Man does have balls, she would have to have a pair in order to say the ridiculous and illogical things she says. Doesn't mean she's ever right, though, as those people on that board like to believe.

I just remember being annoyed a bit during Fahrenheit 9/11, wishing that he would just let the events speak for themselves, rather than forcing his over-the-top voiceovers onto the viewers. I could get the point without the voiceovers. I guess I don't have anything more concrete than that. I really did enjoy some episodes of "The Awful Truth," and I remember liking Bowling for Columbine a lot, though it's been awhile since I've seen it.

But if there are extremists on the far right who spread half-truths and outright lies and take everything several steps too far, wouldn't there be people on the far left who do the exact same thing. I'm the kind of person who likes extremes and has problems doing things in moderation, and my Mom and others are constantly telling me how that's a bad way to be. It just seems to me that approaching politics in an extreme way from either side can't be good. Any thoughts? I know I'm being abstract. (I just put the "shrug" emoticon and that somehow justifies me being kinda inarticulate).
