Actually, I was kind of shocked by how stiff she looked walking. I know several people in their 50s who still could run circles around her. I'm not trying to dog her, I'm saying-again- that I was shocked by how stiff she moves now.

ps. and im sure they all didnt wear 5 inch platform shoes for 30 years, lol. i dont know how she did that. after one night, of wearing heals i cant wait to kick them off when i get home. lol

Stevie did have a stiff walk in some of the Destiny Rules clips and on the first night of this tour back in May 2003, but I just saw her on stage last weekend and she is back to normal! Trust me. I did not notice any stiffness- she was twirling around on stage as graceful as ever and was dancing to the beat of Mick's drum.

And even if she wasn't... who the heck cares? She is getting older. Still she has more energy then a lot of people in their twenties have. Look at that Ruben guy that won American Idol last year. He was sweating after one song! Stevie dances, twirls and sings for two and a half hours and doesn't break a sweat. Clearly Ruben had a weight problem but he was only 20! Stevie is almost 40 years older and that counts for something.

I dont know where the article is online, but before the Say You Will Tour she mentioned a hip problem in a US Weekly short interview...I asked Brett Tuggle recently about her hip in the Q&A on the Penguin and he did say something about it in his response :

"We are all concerned about Stevie's hip. She is doing better and will continue to monitor it when she gets off the road. Thanks for your concerns... "

the hip injury definetely wasnt a made up rumor

I hope I don't sound facetious, but I really do worry about that guy. You can be overweight and still be healthy, but he doesn't seem to be healthy at all.

Hopefully his managers, etc., aren't trying to hold onto that "teddy bear" image so strongly, that they're jeopardizing his health for it.

Sorry... don't agree with that. Being overweight in itself is unhealthy. JMO

Well I tried to point that out in my post by saying he obviously had a weight problem. Bad example anyway...

Okay, let's take Sheryl Crow- this girl's dancing makes my skin crawl. She isn't any more mobile on stage then Stevie is and she is in her thirties, right? And even though they dance around about the same amount Sheryl comes off as not having a clue. Stevie is just so much more down to earth these days. I love the warm feeling Stevie gives me. I love the twirls, I love the silly air guitar moves, I just love Stevie. Period. And based on the videos I've watched I actually like her performances these days to the ones before I was born when she was so out there (falling off stages, mixing up lyrics, being so high on drugs). I like a more mellow Stevie.

Now my posts are all starting to not make sense. I am confused about what this thread is even about now!

Well this is kind of my point exactly. Stevie is no different then anyone else. Just because she doesn't do summersalts on stage doesn't mean anything.

Inactivity/lack of exercise has actually been proven to be more unhealthy than being overweight.

However... Ruben is, as dissention said, "morbidly obese," and that's most certainly different than being ten, or even twenty pounds overweight.

With all these rumours about the Mac throwing in the towel, do you think that there is some truth in it? On the last weekend of the SYW tour Stevie told us never to forget them and Mick did not say "The Mac is back" so maybe they all agreed in private that this was their last project together and they would go about their respective business and just keep in touch. Who knows?
