My "Hornet 1"'s seat was made to look like a motorcycle's. And in those days we didn't wear helmets.(Explains a lot. ) Born to be wii-ii-iild...

I always thought those flafs looked dumb, BTW.

We played four square....remember that game? If not, you had four people, drew a tic-tac-toe on the ground and closed it up so you have four squares...dur. LOL Then, you got a kickball (another game we played, in school, anways) and hit it into the other person's square. If the ball went out of the square, you're out. Stupid game. LOL

In PE class, we played:

Red Rover (!!!)
Kickball
Softball (My fave game!! I hit a homer in 5th grade!! Shocked the boys who were screaming "Move in....easy out!!" LOL)
Soccer (HATE soccer!!)
Basketball
Tennis (HATE tennis!!)

For fun, some would play:
Butt's Up (LMAO!! Who in their right mind....)
Football
Volleyball

At home, I'd play:

Detective on my bike (Yeah, I was VERY imaginative as a kid. LOL Also, we just sold my favorite bike in our garage sale recently and a little part of me, died, I think. LOL)
Atari and later...Nintendo
Volleyball
Badmitton
School (with friends....why would I wanna be a teacher, I don't really like kids. LOL)
rollerskate (My fave thing to do as a kid!!)
I played so much music as a kid...records, tapes, the radio...whatever. I made tapes of myself singing and talking. I'm an only child, so...LOL
In PE we used to play bombardment, which was like dodgeball but with a pin on each side that the teams had to protect. What we called dodgeball was when one team would form a circle around the other & the team making the circle would try to peg those inside the circle.

Skating was huge in the late '70s/early '80s. My tenth birthday party was at a rink. (Many of my friends had bowling parties, which I hated. We should only have known the kinds of extravagant parties that my current students have. )

I never played that, but how much fun was Keep Away!

I think I remember that game. Reminds me of the card games we played with sadistic glee, like Bloody Knuckles.

I thought the cleavage strategy was the most important thing you ever learned from her.

I played with Legos as well, plus my brother had Lincoln Logs. Remember Silly Putty and Play-Doh (which I teach with!)?

No, neither one of us is adopted. I would just tell him that because neither one of us wanted to believe we were related to those wack jobs.

I know, I know, but that was really my life. But i was in hella good shape, got a great education, know how to amuse myself BY myself (only child) and since i am such a good reader, school was always pretty cake-walk for me. Well, math and science were more of a pie walk, or a scone walk, but....
That reminds me of a good story where i accidentally made my sickly friend break her arm. We were on the parallel bars at school, see. I didn't really understand that not everyone was as good at athletic things as i was. So i was like, c'mon, do a cherry drop, they're easy and fun!!! Look!!!! See!!! Nothing to it!!!! C'mon, you'll love it!!! then - *flail* snap! the arm was broken. She got the last laugh, she got to play Helen Keller in community theatre play, and she got a better part in the class play. And of course everyone paid attention to her cause she had a cast and had to write with her left hand. Even though I didn't do anything on purpose, I still feel Karma exacted it's retribution!

Shhh...I told you to not tell people about my freakishly hairy buttocks!! Damn you, Jake!

I had roller skating parties too.

Dodgeball...the game from HELL! My friend lost her sight temporarily because some jerkoff hit her in the face.
