It's not an attention thing. I think the people who contribute to this thread are open about these things and like hearing other people's stories. Talking about sex doesn't have to be inappropriate or taboo-- lots of people don't feel like it should be a heavily censored subject, myself included. So if there's a thread dedicated to this type of thing, I think it's fun to discuss. No one who's posting these things would bring it up somewhere else on here. It's the "appropriate" place to talk about it for people who are comfortable.

If you don't like it, don't view this thread.

She didn't say she didn't like it, or that anything was taboo or bothered her - just that she thought it was strange. She's entitled to think that & not participate, right? What's the harm in her stating her opinion? If you don't like it, don't read or respond to her post.

I'm not saying that she shouldn't have posted what she did-- I wasn't replying to her specific post anyway, but addressing the purpose of this thread in general.

It's strange to some people and not to others. It's no big deal, I was just clarifying what I thought on the subject. There's absolutely no harm in her stating her opinion and I didn't indicate otherwise which is why your post confuses me a little. I was just explaining my opinion on why this thread exists.

IMO message boards that allow subject matter of a graphic sexual nature in public forum should display notification of content.

IMO, the title of the thread TMI does not disclose that the thread is dedicated to sexual content (daniellaaarisen: "so if there's a thread dedicated to this type of thing, I think it's fun to discuss.")

i know i know seeing from child's eye (go ahead make fun)
a 10yo in love with ms nicks may view the TMI thread in hopes of reading about locker room farts and tampon toilet plugs only to find referrals to fleshwnds, details of last night's FCK and/or monkey fist, etc etc.

Really good point-- maybe the title of this thread isn't as clear as it should be. There should be a warning of adult content.

That being said, isn't there an age limit for Ledgies? 13 or something? Still not old enough, I know, but I don't think we should worry about 10-year-olds on here. At least I'd like to hope so

I went ahead and put the disclaimer of (Adult Discussion) in the thread title. Honestly, when I was a kid, that tag would have lead me straight towards the thread vs if it weren't labeled that in the first place. But the tag would seem to be the PC thing to do.

It's probably time for us to review whether this thread really has a home here on the Ledge. I welcome and encourage PM's on ALL viewpoints regarding this thread, and why you feel it should stay or go.

exactly. when 'google fleshwnd' was referenced in here somewhere, damnstraight that was the first thing I did! curiousity is a terrible thing to waste.

maybe The Ledge should consider an adults only area I am aware of other vBulletin boards that have made that allowance for their members.
