The only time I've cooked squid I just kind of shallow friend it with some lemon juice and then a fewchili flakes on top. I'm not sure if that's how you're supposed to cook it but that's what I did!

How about starting a recipe swap thread? Anyone up for that?

I'd be down for the recipe thing. Although I try to cut as many calories from mine as possible, so I'd need to remember to include all the ingredients(I try to leave out as much butter/oil as possible. Like eggplant Parmesan calls for an "egg wash", and I just let water run over the slices, before I dip them in bread crumbs.

Trying to maintain the body weight that I want, is like moving a mountain. Being pretty damned heartbroken, the past couple of weeks, hasn't helped. I'm hoping that if I'm able to move beyond the heartbreak, that I might be motivated anew!

I bought a head of cabbage, about 3 weeks ago, when I was craving a winter comfort food, cabbage rolls!!!!, but I just feel so guilty about making it(essentially, it's meatloaf, wrapped in boiled cabbage leaves, then baked....so F*CKING good!!!!). I hate people blessed with an active metabolism!!!!!!!!!

I've tried with cabbage but just no. Haven't tried it cooked like that though!

I had a metabolism until I was 16. Then I p***ed it off and it ran away. It formed an evil alliance with my older brother's metabolism so that he can now eat what he wants, and as much of it, and not put on a lb.

You can't eat BBQ, without cole slaw!!!! It's the law! I pretty much only eat cabbage, as slaw, sauerkraut, or cabbage rolls. And it's mighty tasty, in all three forms!

How big are you? I'm 5'10", and 151 now. But I can feel my cheeks growing, which is pi*sing me off!(I always had a fat face, and it's been gone for 2.5 years now, and I can feel the difference, coming back) Gotta get over this love loss, if only for the sake of my own weight!

I absolutely HATE people that can eat anything they want, and not gain a f*cking pound. I look at something good, and gain 3 lbs.

I managed to eat plenty of BBQ in Texas without coleslaw! I got some strange looks but no more than usual...

I go up and down. I'm 5"10" ( this is where you tell me to stop being you again!) and I'm currently at about 190. My ideal weight is between 155-60, which is between 11 and 12 stone, a measuremtn more popular here but not used in the US. I was at 170 and going down last summer but gave myself a pass for my holiday (which I totally don't regret) and then just didn't get back into the gym habit as hard as I was going at it before I went. Typical.

I'm back at the gym now and being quite strict. I'm not worried about it too much because I know I can lose it and I'll get there.

You really need to get over your cole slaw prejudice. It's 2012, for god's sake! Do you have Kentucky Fried Chicken there? If you don't like their slaw, well, there's something WRONG with you!

Okay, we're working with the same body, here. I was up to 215, 4 years ago. Got a slight handle on it, and got down to about 180. Then got REALLY motivated 2.5 years ago, and got all the way down to about 138(yes, I had constant questions about if I was dying). But I like being skinny, even if my body doesn't want to be that way. This body WANTS to weigh about 190. I want it to weigh about 140. Lifelong, never ending, constant battle. I was 150.0 this morning. But even the 12 lbs that I've gained...I can feel it on me. I can feel my cheeks getting bigger(and F*CK that- I've got a big head anyway, and I finally fired it, and it's NOT coming back). I felt better when I was 140. I LOVE feeling thin, and I actually like being hungry, during the daytime.
I was telling a chubby friend of mine, that I'd gained 10 lbs since Thanksgiving, and he said, "what, are you up to 120 now?" But the thing is - I've never completely gotten rid of my beer gut, even at 140. Now stop being me, because we both know that's probably NEVER going to happen!

I've already decided that today is going to be meatless. I'm thinking veggie stirfry, super spicy, to make up for the lack of meat taste.

Stone? That's your measurement there? How many pounds is a stone?

I hate exercise, and I'm probably most proud, that I did my weight loss, without ONE IOTA of exercise! Never lifted a finger! Just good old fashioned starvation!

Cole slaw is so nasty. Words cannot describe how gross I think that stuff is. Unless it's a vinegar-based slaw - those are good - but that nasty creamy white crap? Barf.

Anyway, last night I ate left-over pizza for dinner. I was bored, tired, uninspired and didn't care. But it was good pizza, with feta and red onions.

This is my list of Foods That Shall Never Be Eaten
Sour Cream
Mayonnaise
Cole slaw
Cooked spinach
Seafood
Beef
Hot Dogs

Wow, talk about polar opposites. I hate vinegar based slaw, at least compared to mayo based! I could eat a gallon of KFC slaw!

I love everything on your list. I could eat sour cream and mayo, straight out of the container!

I'm not sure what it is about mayo and sour cream in particular, but they really ruin food for me. I can eat them if they're blended in with something where the taste disappears, like sour cream used in something like a tetrazini sauce, or mayo in potato salad - but if it's just on my food? Um, no.

I love Mexican food, a lot, so I'm always really wary of sour cream.

Oh, and I had nachos for lunch. Yum!

And that's what I hate about REAL mexican restaurants...that they rarely put sour cream on anything. I could take my own 16 oz container, and dump the whole thing on top!

Dirty whore eating. I'm DOWN! KFC, original recipe. Two thighs please, with mashed potatoes and gravy, and SLAW!

Isn't it hard to be accurate in description, with such a large measurement. If I'm 11 stone, I could be within 14 lbs? Or do you use 14.3 stone?

Me too. Seafood! Beef(although I don't each much of it now, I still LOVE it!)!

We use pounds too, otherwise it is too inaccurate. Sorry, I wasn't be very clear. We would state our weight in stones and pounds rather than just purely pounds. For example, if someone weighs 160lb they wouldn't say that. Instead they would say 11st 4lb or, if they're being less accurate, 11 and a half stone (which is 11st 7lb).
