I thought it a fun read, but, like you, felt this was more mass market youth fare than something for The New Yorker. And the age of the journalist—also an unusual move for that mag.

Sad but not surprising that this thread is mostly negative posts from non-fans who insist on taking up space on a discussion board for fans. I remember this board in the 2002-2007 years. We all complained about Stevie's setlists but we loved her, talked about her, made friends with each other because of our common interests, flew around the country to see her and meet each other. I don't even understand why the Stevie Nicks section of this board even exists.

Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed the interview. Each new generation falls in love with her, which is why she is way more than just relevant even though not having a hit for going on 40 years. She's a legend and people love her. I know I do. I don't worship her, just love her.

Excuse the tangent here…I’ve been getting into Lucinda Williams lately and looking into her discography and seeing the shear amount of albums and projects shes’s done…if anyone should be bragging about being prolific it should be her. Stevie’s touring has been far more prolific than recording at this point. There are so many other artists out there who have been super busy, immersed in their craft, and too busy to be patting themselves on the back to the press about their pop culture status. My tolerance for the same old Stevie narrative BS is nonexistent these days.

Lucinda Williams is remarkable. Ann Wilson is doing a lot of interesting solo things like touring very small venues, releasing music, etc. and I wish Stevie would do similar.
