as the saying goes, the clothes shouldn't wear the woman, the woman should wear the clothes. She's small. All the ruffles and things she's been wearing are starting to overwhelm her frame.

Stevie has dressed better than this in practically every public appearance she made in 2013. Just close your eyes and pick one at random and her outfit looked loads better than that top from last night does.

So, I don't say her entire wardrobe needs an overhaul. I know she has some great pieces in it. Just that particular blouse needs to be thrown out.

Stunningly beautiful! I mean the smile alone wins me over. I would like to see her eyes though and have her lose those glasses.

Great shots!

Despite the 'shirt', I gotta say, her neck/decollete/shoulders look amazing for a 65 year old who, despite what she says, *did* do quite a lot of time in the sun when younger.

I thought she looked beautiful, as always. She just seems to glow with happiness. I think she is truly pleased with where she is in life.

Not to be off topic, but I honestly didn't see anything remotely similar to Stevie Nicks in Katy's grammy performance. Her performance was really dark and sorta sacrilege-like with the red cross and stuff. The whole thing seemed more like Ozzy Osbourne. Whereas Stevie always has beautiful fairytale imagery. It actually seemed to be the opposite of Stevie Nicks.

Lmao since when has Stevie Nicks ever wore something "appropriate' for the Grammys or any other public appearance? She is Stevie Nicks, she sure as hell didn't get where she is by wearing what everyone else thought she should wear. She doesn't need some Gucci get up to get her noticed or give her stature. She can wear the same clothes she wore yesterday and still have everyone on the red carpet in the palm of her hand because she's just that damn good.

Yes, Joan Rivers does the show with 3 co-hosts and Melissa produces it. It's on for an hour tonight, but I don't think they will mention Stevie.

That wouldn't really work, imo, because then she'd really have no shape. If you're wearing a long flowy skirt, you can't also wear a long flowy skirt.. you have to have something sinched in at the waist (like her old leotards, or now her corsets I guess) w/ a skirt like that, and you have to have something tight on the legs with a shirt like that (like her leggings). Otherwise you just look like a blob.

Well, I agree with you... but most people just associate Stevie with witches in general. If it's witchy and black and flowy, it's Stevie Nicks.

However, to Katy's credit, she did have on very Rhiannon-esque chiffon long sleeves in the beginning which she later removed.

I had the same opinion as you. Katy seemed like she was trying to be a Ozzy and Marilyn Manson wannabe with that performance.

I got curious about Doug Morris and did a quick Google search.

Found this interesting article that talks to and about Stevie a little bit. How he nurtured her through the making of Bella Donna, Jimmy Iovine, and how to get the album from #3 to #1 on Billboard he pimped her out one night. Ok, I exaggerate that part, but it does say the album was #3 and he took her to dinner with a writer from Billboard and then, whaddayaknow, her album went to #1. The author of *this* article clearly implies that Morris knew that would do the trick.

In 1980, Morris was named president of Atlantic. He applied his new skills to stars like Nicks, whom he signed as a solo artist. He called her every day as she was recording Bella Donna, her first record. When things didn’t go well with her producer, Morris recruited 26-year-old Jimmy Iovine, who’d worked on records with Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty. Nicks was ecstatic when Bella Donna reached No. 3 on the Billboard charts. “In numerology, three is the number of the creative, of the beginning, the child,” she says. It wasn’t enough for Morris, though. He took Nicks, possibly the most alluring woman in rock ’n’ roll at the time, out to dinner with a writer from Billboard. One week later, her album went to No. 1.
