Maybe she is trying to drum up some publicity for a documentary that critics including the one for the Hollywood Reporter say that will only appeal to the hardcore fans

Perhaps she should have threatened to kill some hapless wannabe star upon the release of the IYD album ..it might have at least gone gold then.

Now, Nicks regrets her comments and says they came after a grueling day with the media.

“I want to apologize for my remarks about Nicki Minaj’s behavior toward Mariah Carey which I said during a long and exhausting day of interviews. It was very out of character for me and I deeply regret what I said,” she said in a statement released to Access Hollywood.

Adding, “I feel very protective toward Mariah Carey who has gone through many difficulties in her life and I spoke without thinking. I think all artists should be respectful toward one another and that includes me. I am truly sorry.”

This quote sounds like it was prepared by someone else.Probably she should have not responded at all and let the chips fall where they may.

This apology wasn't worded by Stevie any more than it was worded by ME!

There was no need to apologize...she didn't threaten anyone.

She just said IF she had been in that situation...that is like saying "If I get to outer space I am going to kill an alien."

Hopefully the apology will get people off her back; however, a lot of times acknowledging that a silly comment like that was out of line will do more harm than good, imo. She might have been better off just leaving things be.

Also, no way in heck those words actually came out of Stevie's mouth/pen.
