It was cool to see Lindsey bad acting and all (unless he was trying to look stoned cause that looked believable) SNL these days is painful to watch, I did like the high frucose corn syrup skit though. Was it just me or did his voice seem deeper?

I was going to say this. Paul Simon has better comic timing than the current SNL cast.

Lindsey must think pursed face while picking = comedy.

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Paul Simon practically is an original SNL cast member, so it makes sense he was so natural in the sketch!

I went to bed early last night and was awakened by texts that this was happening, I can only imagine my reaction if I hadn't known Lindsey was going to be there! I've loved this sketch since the beginning and I love that "real" Lindsey was finally on it! I also loved his "Hader as Lindsey" face that he kept making, even though he seemed a bit nervous, he still pulled it off and Kenan's commentary during his guitar solo was hilarious.

Stoned? No, it was past his bed time.

I thought it was funny they inserted a "John Stewart" banjo player into the skit with a girl duo partner too.

Thumbs up I did not know

that Lindsey was going to be on SNL. I always record it & then watch it on Sunday morning. So when the skit started again, What's Up with that?, I told my husband, here we go again another they never talk to Lindsey. I even said to my husband that I'm still waiting for the day that he walks out there & just starts singing & playing his guitar. So when he walked out, I almost s**t! FINALLY!! Pretty much forgot everyone else there. I was hoping that for at least one of Paul Simon's songs, Lindsey would play his guitar with him, but alas, no. I had to settle for the little bit that I got. Maybe though, he can be the musical guest sometime. Anyway now, SNL, you can retire this skit. Since the real LB finally appeared, I see no point in performing it anymore!

My friend just texted me to let me know that she spotted Lindsey in the city this afternoon. She doesn't really know him so she didn't approach him, but she said that he was hanging out of his car and "being so nice", so I'm assuming other people were! He is a superstar after last night, haha.

The skit was OK. Lindsey was so cute, but Paul Simon owned it for me. Oh my gosh, 4:25 is the best part of that entire night.

Lindsey looked amazing, his hair looked perfect, and he appeared to have a good time. I'm so proud of him, and I love that Paul praised him. For me, given that Paul S. is my second fave songwriter of all time, LB getting his acknowledgement like that is priceless. It's true, and completely priceless.

The Good

“What’s Up With That?” (Thompson, Sudeikis, Hader, Simon, Colfer, Helms, Ensemble): I have mixed feelings about the appearance of Lindsey Buckingham. On one hand, I’m never a fan of when the real-life version confronts the parody onstage. Then again, Bill Hader’s Lindsey Buckingham was never really a parody. It was always more of a “Who is the most random person we can have as a recurring guest?” type situation. So, in the case of Buckingham, why not? His appearance actually kind of fit into the manic jumble of “What’s Up With That?” And, as always, these are a delight just to see Jason Sudeikis dancing in a track suit.

Score: 8.5

SNL Ambiguously Gay Duo Goes Live Action With Jon Hamm
May 15, 2011 01:50 PM EDT

http://entertainment.gather.com/view...81474979328801

Last night's SNL show was a veritable smorgasbord of surprise guests. While host Ed Helms (The Hangover 2) was hilarious, and musical guest Paul Simon was great as usual, it was the unscheduled guest appearances that made the show a must-watch program.

First, Bill Hader's Lindsey Buckingham character was upstaged by the REAL Lindsey Buckingham in the "What Up With That?" segment. Pity poor, adorable Chris Colfer (Glee), who did not get to say a single word in the segment. Why Lorne Michaels chose Paul Simon's week to showcase Lindsey Buckingham's guitar expertise was not the best idea. It seemed a little belittling to Simon.

The highlight of the program was Robert Smigel's animated "Ambiguously Gay Duo" come to life with John Hamm and Jimmy Fallon in the title roles. Stephen Colbert as a two-brained scientist was surprising and gut-busting. Rounding out the hilariously vulgar bit was Steve Carrell, Ed Helms and Fred Armison. It was one of the best shorts in months. You can watch it below, courtesy of NBC.

Next week's SNL season finale is sure to end the season on a memorable note. Guest host Justin Timberlake and musical guest Lady GaGa promises to be funny. Put Andy Samberg and Timberlake in some digital short is almost certain gold. They have done it twice before, and with Lady GaGa hanging about, it could be their best. Just a suggestion, mind you.
