Straight from the demon's mouth...

Age Range: Over 30

Gender: I have a weenus

When you became a fan: 1997 when The Dance came out... Although I knew the Mirage/Tango era songs from growing up in the 80s

How you became a fan: Watching Everywhere, Landslide and Silver Springs from The Dance in 1997

First 3 FM songs: The Chain, I'm So Afraid and Gypsy

First FM vocalist: I don't understand this question... favorite vocalist? Christine McVie.

Favorite FM Time Period: Rumours/Tusk & The Dance

Vocalist breakdown by percentage: 40% Christine McVie... 30% Lindsey and 30% Stevie

Concerts you've attended: Saw the band 3 times on the Say You Will tour, I saw Stevie solo in 2001 and I've seen Buckingham in 2007 on his solo tour.

FM stuff you own: Not much. I got rid of most of it. I do still have the SYW autographed flat that I won from FleetwoodMac.com in 2003

Favorite thing about FM: Buckingham's guitar work

Least favorite thing about FM: The fact they they don't release a new record every 3 or 4 years

Are you the same fan your where when you started: I think so?

Your all time "dream" lineup that won't ever happen: to have the Rumours lineup back

You wish for the future of the Mac: At least one more studio album (and related note... the release of an official Buckingham/Nicks CD)

Age: 46

Gender: I'm a woman.

When you became a fan: 1978-1988, reborn 20010

How you became a fan: I sent my sister into town to buy me Plastic Letters by Blondie, but she couldn't remember what I'd asked her to get and bought Rumours instead

First 3 FM songs: Must've been SHN, Dreams and NGBA?

First FM vocalist: Must've been LB?

Favorite FM Time Period: Visually, I think they looked amazing between '75 and '79. Musically, I like some things from all lineups from '67 to present.

Vocalist breakdown by percentage: Well, cards on the table: I've never enjoyed Christine as a vocalist. Bland. The idea of her winning an award for blues vocals is, to me, comical. LB has pretty much lost it, and seems to actively want to sound terrible at times. SN's voice has changed a lot over the years, and I hate the really nasal stuff, but I find her voice the most interesting.

Concerts you've attended: Saw them in London in 1988, right at the point where I'd kind of stopped being a fan but I'd had the tickets for ages so I went. It was ok.

FM stuff you own: Just music -- oh, and a little enamelled lapel pin and a Tusk tour programme that I bought when I first became a fan.

Favorite thing about FM: That thing about how, on paper, those five people shouldn't have been able to accomplish anything, and yet they did.

Least favorite thing about FM: I could say "Christine McVie fans who have a problem with my own completely legitimate preference for someone else", but that's not really my "Least favourite thing about FM", is it? No. That's lumping people together under a label and having a go. Every chance you get.

Are you the same fan you where when you started: Pretty much. What's great is that, having not been keeping up with them for 20+ years, and my first fan spell being pre-internet, I'm still finding so many new things.

Your all time "dream" lineup that won't ever happen: Despite what I said about liking Chris's voice the least, I do most enjoy the three voices together, so it would be great to have the 'Rumours' lineup back.

You wish for the future of the Mac: Another studio album without LB producing, and a tour that comes to the UK!

It sounds like you're describing classic cars but, actually you're probably the first to answer the question the way it was intended...and it would be cool

Age: 17

Gender: Female

When you became a fan: FM have been there all the way through my life because my Momma is a huge fan. She gave me her Tango CD early last year and it snowballed from there.

How you became a fan: Listening to said Tango CD and it was Caroline and TITN that really grabbed my attention before I realised that I new so many of the songs already.

First 3 FM songs: TITN, Everywhere, Mystified

First FM vocalist: Christine McVie

Favorite FM Time Period: '69 through '74 but my favourite years are definitely '72, '73 & '74.

Concerts you've attended: None, and I don't intend to, unless it's Men Of The Mac

FM stuff you own: Oh god. Tons of Records (I think I've nearly got the lot) CD's, posters, shirts etc.

Favorite thing about FM: Christine

Least favorite thing about FM: The effect certain members have on certain fans (myself included)

Are you the same fan your where when you started: Kinda. I went through about 3 months of mildly-hardcore Stevie fandom, got bored and went straight back to where I started with Christine.

Your all time "dream" lineup that won't ever happen: John, Mick, Peter, Bob Welch, Jeremy, Christine and Danny.

You wish for the future of the Mac: I don't really have one, considering I know and appreciate that Christine is well and truly out of the picture. I'd love for Mick & John to make another Blues album, though. And of course for them all to live well and comfortably.

Age Range: 40

Gender: Female

When you became a fan: Technically in 1997 after seeing The Dance, but officially in 2007 when I discovered BuckinghamNicks.net.

How you became a fan: I fell in love with the song "Silver Springs" on the radio in '97. In 2007, I saw Lindsey's Soundstage and looked up Lindsey and Stevie on web.

First 3 FM songs: "Silver Springs", "Gypsy", "The Chain"

First FM vocalist: Toss up between Stevie & Lindsey

Favorite FM Time Period: 1975-1979, 1982, 1997.

Vocalist breakdown by percentage: Stevie - 35% Lindsey - 35%, Chris - 30%

Concerts you've attended: Stevie - Atlanta GA 2008, Lindsey - Atlantic City 2008, FM - Atlanta 2009 & Nashville 2009.

FM stuff you own: All the BN lineup cd's.

Favorite thing about FM: The marriage of the music, lyrics and production, the chemistry in the band.

Least favorite thing about FM: How it's used as a vehicle of sorts and maybe abused a bit by that.

Are you the same fan your where when you started: No, but it's still sort of fresh in some ways and especially when they are all actively working on projects we know about.

Your all time "dream" lineup that won't ever happen: I guess Christine returning, but I love 'em as they are too.

You wish for the future of the Mac: A final new album and respectful farewell tour with at least one Christine performance. Then, the release of Buckingham Nicks and a tour. And whatever projects they do after that.

Age Range: 36

Gender: female

When you became a fan: Fleetwood Mac: 1987, Lindsey Buckingham: 1984, Stevie Nicks 1985

How you became a fan: Long story short-I was already a fan of Lindsey since Go Insane. I became a fan of Stevie with Rock a Little. I had no idea they were in a band together until Tango In the Night. I loved the single 'Big Love'. I got the Tango album. I loved the rest of the album. I then started getting other FM albums and member solo albums. I realized I'd heard plenty of these songs over the years and liked them. So....a fan ever since!!

First 3 FM songs: If this means the first three I heard after knowing who Fleetwood Mac was: Big Love, Seven Wonders, and Little Lies

First FM vocalist:Lindsey Buckingham!

Favorite FM Time Period: Buckingham Nicks years, followed by 1971-1974 FM

Vocalist breakdown by percentage: 35% Lindsey, 25% Christine, 14% Stevie, 6% Danny Kirwan, 6% Bob Welch, 5% Billy Burnette, 4% Peter Green, 3% Jeremy Spencer, 1% Bekka Bramlett, 1% Rick Vito

Concerts you've attended: Fleetwood Mac: The Dance tour, Columbus, OH October 1997, Say You Will tour, Atlanta, GA June 2003

FM stuff you own: Aside from Music: Promo Dance poster, Promo SYW poster (small), Promo SYW 3 feet x 3 feet Posterboard, Tour T-shirts from The Dance, SYW, older t-shirt (from 70s?) given to me in 1994, Stevie T-shirt from Rock a Little Era, Christine McVie Picture Disc, Bob Welch Picture Disc. I'm sure I'm leaving out something.....

Favorite thing about FM: Too many to name!!

Least favorite thing about FM: Too many years of dragging their feet. Too much indecisiveness. It sometimes makes a fan feel like we care more about Fleetwood Mac then they do!

Are you the same fan you were when you started: I don't think I realized I was a 'permanent fan' when I started out! I was almost 13 and at that age, you are not always thinking in concrete terms about '10 years from now, 20 years from now'. Since 1997, I've realized I'm definitely in this for life!!

Your all time "dream" lineup that won't ever happen: Mick, John, Lindsey, Christine, & Bob Welch!

You wish for the future of the Mac:I want them to do what will make them happy. Still, if they intend to not make more albums together or if they get to that point in the future, they should let the fans know that! That way, we will know where they stand.

Age Range: 30 something

Gender: female

When you became a fan: Seriously in 1997

How you became a fan: Sitting in awe after watching Silver Springs from The Dance for the very first time.

First 3 FM songs: Rhiannon, Gold Dust Woman, Gypsy

First FM vocalist: I liked Lindsey's songs first, but that all changed after The Dance. Stevie is my favorite now.

Favorite FM Time Period: Rumours-Mirage

Vocalist breakdown by percentage: 70% Stevie; 20% Lindsey; 10% Chris

Concerts you've attended: Say You Will and 2 Stevie solo shows

FM stuff you own: Too much to count: vinyl, c.d.'s, posters, books, tour merch, ebay memoribilia, you name it.

Favorite thing about FM: the beautifully blended 3-part harmony of Stevie, Lindsey and Chris.

Least favorite thing about FM: all the shipper crap

Are you the same fan your where when you started: No, I got over the Stevie/Lindsey romance thing LONG ago.

Your all time "dream" lineup that won't ever happen: The five from the Rumours line-up.

You wish for the future of the Mac: To put out a new album of NEW material with Chris (pipe dream, I know) and a tour featuring new songs and obscure material either never or rarely done live. I guess I'll keep on wishin'!

Age Range: Over 45. That's all I'm 'fessing up to.

Gender: female

When you became a fan: 1997

How you became a fan: Fate. I kept channel surfing to the exact same spot in Silver Springs during the Dance (never get away, never get away). I was intrigued. Who was this man Stevie Nicks was railing at? And, damn, she looked good since the last time I saw her. And, how old was she anyway?

First 3 FM songs: Favorites? Gee. I'm kind of sick of most of them, to tell you the absolute truth. So, Everybody Finds Out. Tango in the Night. And...Not Make Believe

First FM vocalist: Lindsey/Stevie. Total toss up.

Favorite FM Time Period: Dance. I liked the vibe around that time. Although, SYW was fabulous (for me), too.

Vocalist breakdown by percentage: 50% Stevie; 40% Lindsey; 10% Chris

Concerts you've attended: Say You Will...10ish concerts? I don't remember. Stevie...since TISL...probably at least 10. Lindsey...8 or so. I really have to do the math. All I can tell you is I haven't been debt-free since I started attending these things.

FM stuff you own: LOADS of stuff. I don't even want to think of it.

Favorite thing about FM: I liked the general theme of second (third, fourth) chances, and love, no matter how dysfunctional, lasting throughout a lifetime. And I don't mean shipper love, either. Just relationships of all kinds.

Least favorite thing about FM: the backstabbing when they aren't sitting next to each other and the rewriting of history.

Are you the same fan your where when you started: No. This past Greatest Hits tour really made me not love them as much.

Your all time "dream" lineup that won't ever happen: I actually like them just the way they are. I have no desire to see CM, so...I'm good. I just wish they'd come at it with enthusiasm and a sense of creative wonder instead of wondering if they'll need a bigger bag to schlepp their money to the bank with.

You wish for the future of the Mac: Enthusiasm! Creativity! or hang it all up and go solo.

ETA: I did the (tentative) math.
New totals: FM (SYW and "Unleashed") 14
Lindsey Solo: 11
Stevie Solo: 17

I should have gone to FM rehab.

When you became a fan: August '09

How you became a fan: Heard the TITN tour version of The Chain

First 3 FM songs: Don't Stop, Everywhere, Dreams

First FM vocalist: Christine

Favorite FM Time Period: 1971-1991

Vocalist breakdown by percentage: Impossible to do if I'm trying to fit in Greeny, Billy and Bob!

Concerts you've attended: None, will probably keep it that way

FM stuff you own: Behind The Mask and Greatest Hits CDs, Rumours on vinyl

Favorite thing about FM: All the variety in singers/moods/styles

Least favorite thing about FM: Rumours milking, the current circus of a line-up

Are you the same fan your where when you started: Shifted from being mainly a Stevie fan to being mainly a Christine fan

Your all time "dream" lineup that won't ever happen:

You wish for the future of the Mac: For them to either get off their bums or finish the band

When you became a fan: I've always been a fan, but I consider my true fandom to have begun on August of 1999.

How you became a fan: Little Lies.

First 3 FM songs: Little Lies, Hold Me, Rhiannon

First FM vocalist: Bekka Bramlett

Favorite FM Time Period: BTM/Time, I wish I were old enough to have gone to concerts during that period.

Concerts you've attended:
August 13, 2003 - Kansas City, MO (Fleetwood Mac)
August 15, 2003 - St. Louis, MO (Fleetwood Mac)
June 17, 2007 - Redding, CA (Lindsey Buckingham)

FM stuff you own: CDs mostly. A lot of stuff though.

Favorite thing about FM: The variety of the band and the quality of the music throughout each era.

Least favorite thing about FM: Ignorant fans and Stevie fans who worship every bit of nonsense she says/thinks/does under the sun.

Are you the same fan your where when you started: I'm a more open and "well-rounded" fan.

Your all time "dream" lineup that won't ever happen: All 16 members in a mega-concert. See above but if I have to get specific: Billy, Lindsey, Bob Welch, Christine, John and Mick.

You wish for the future of the Mac: Continue making music with any variation of the band, just no new members (like Sheryl Cow.)

Matt

Thumbs up

Age Range: 40 something

Gender: Male

When you became a fan: 1975

How you became a fan: Heard World Turning and Blue Letter coming out of my brother's or sister's stereo

First 3 FM songs: World Turning, Blue Letter, I'm So Afraid

First FM vocalist: Lindsey Buckingham

Favorite FM Time Period: Peter/Blues, Rick & Billy/BTM

Vocalist breakdown by percentage: 50% Peter Green, 20% Christine, 15% Lindsey, 10% Rick, 5% Stevie

Concerts you've attended: "Tango" Tour - 1 show, "BTM" Tour - 3 shows

FM stuff you own: CD's of the albums from "Peter Green's FM" through "Say You Will"

Favorite thing about FM: Rhythm section!!!! Mick and John can't be beat!

Least favorite thing about FM: Sorry, but I'm telling the truth: The seemingly total blind devotion to anything and everything concerning Lindsey and Stevie, to the detriment of all other eras of the band. My opinion. You don't have to like it, but it's mine.

Are you the same fan your where when you started: No. Started as a Lindsey/Stevie fan, then became a Peter/Blues era fan and an overall, every era fan and have come back to the Blues era again. That is, without doubt, my favourite era of FM.

Your all time "dream" lineup that won't ever happen: Mick, John, Peter, Rick, Christine, Lindsey, Stevie, and Billy.

You wish for the future of the Mac: That they will record a new CD and tour one more time. After that, I think the band should call it a career and Mick should devote himself full time to the Mick Fleetwood Blues Band featuring Rick Vito and put his efforts into getting John to sign on there as well (no slight to Lenny Castellanos intended, he's awesome!), and perhaps persuading Peter to sit in with them now and again on shows in the UK/Europe. Rick's got the chops to play the Peter material, the Jeremy stuff and Danny's as well. He's also got more than enough talent to support that band with original material of his own. It would bring FM full circle.
