I really like this interview. Yes, it is funny to hear her say it's her best work, but then again every artist says that about their most recent album - Stevie is no different in that regard, I'm juts very happy that we seem to be finally getting a new solo album from her! It's about time!

p.s: I LOVE Annie Lennox, either with Dave in Eurythmics or solo. She has an incredible voice.

Well that's a tad irrational....Her legacy speaks for itself, as does the dozen's of iconic songs she has written over her career. As I alluded to before, Bella Donna is arguably her most consistent album, from the songwriting to the production. It is a solid piece of work and generally regarded as her crowning achievement, as Rumours was to Fleetwood Mac. After Bella Donna her solo recordings became more erratic and spotty, Even though TISL was a brilliant return to form, it didn't quite hit the mark, but it did stand up to the best things she did in her 1st 3 records. It's also interesting to note that Stevie & TISL received the most critical acclaim & praise than any of her other solo recording including Bella Donna!

But I digress, my point is there are no rule's or criteria that dictates Stevie must write every single song by herself on a single album for it to be considered her greatest work. It could happen., whether it's a grandiose statement on Stevie's part or feedback that she's been receiving from those involved or lucky enough to hear it thus far...I dunno. But I feel we are in for her best record since Bella Donna-regardless if she has written the material by herself or not, because ultimately it's a team effort on all her solo recordings anyway.

Peace~

That would be Street Angel...even when she was actively promoting it she didn't really praise it.

Everyone has been dying to hear something from Stevie since Dave first started tweeting. So, this is very exciting. Thanks for bringing it to us.

You're confused? I'm more than a little confused myself at your extreme reaction to Stevie's comments that were specifically about the popular perception of the Eurythmics. Especially when she's right on the mark.

Quote:
The girl always gets all the attention—Annie Lennox got all the attention—but the fact is, after spending four months writing with him, I know how important Dave was to all those Eurythmics records. They wrote those songs together, and that’s why they were so fantastic.
Most people I know, including myself not so long ago, think of them as Annie Lennox and that other guy. However, on all of their albums, Annie and Dave wrote the songs together, and Dave was the one producing them. All Stevie was pointing out was that Annie (who I very much love) is the one everyone remembers, and the way Stevie phrased it suggests that she did the same thing until she worked with Dave and realized he was just as important .

But you decided to use Stevie's very reasonable comment as an excuse to criticize her, which you seem to do a lot. Out of curiosity, if you don't care for her, why do you bother posting in her section of the forums? Just to get a rise out of people?

I'm not trying to offend you or anyone else, but I really don't get all the negativity I see around here from a number of people. Playful joking is one thing, but I see some really harsh words tossed around. Then again, I follow the "if you don't have anything nice to say" philosophy, so maybe I'm the odd one out.
