Thats so cool, because RAL at Jones Beach was my first Stevie show too.

Whenever I see pics or video of Stevie wearing that thing, I am reminded of Tori Amos' apron dress phase.

Words such as disturbing or pain do not come into my mind when describing Stevies performances. Yeah she screamed and yelled, but out of pure passion, and enjoyment, and feeling. We as her audience were right there with her every step of the way, screaming, clapping, dancing, and totally feeding off her, which gave her complete confidence to be free and emote her feelings right back to us, We feed off of that we were connected to the feelings that the music, and her performances bought out in each of us. Completely special, to be able to get through to people that way is what it is all about. Connecting to people on such a level is the reason I love music. That's the ****!!! It was so heartfelt and craved, I feel blessed to have even been a part of that. Many concerts in the 80's were wild, or over the top with antics. But at Stevie's shows, she just connects so much with her audience, it's just really unreal. Of course we are glad Stevie and many other people survived, but I'm glad we were given RAL in it's geniuine form, and that we were lucky enough to have Rocked A Little with Stevie.

Yes, this is the one I was talking about too. But you know it was on the same videotape as the Iowa one, so I got confused.

There's also a really good GDW from Nebraska that's shot closer to the stage which is below. Too bad it's filmed off of the TV screen but I also have a copy of this so I'll try to upload it along with the Iowa performance.

I think what people are referring to as far as the RAL years and tour isn't that she wrecked some songs onstage and was obviously a mess inside, but we loved the fieriness that came from all that and the wild performances of that time. I was lucky to see some of it during the Enchanted Tour during EOS at the end, she had walked over to the left side of the stage (outdoor arena) by the amps and started going into convulsions kicking up her garnet red boots and she was dancing so hard her shawl just fell off and she left it there until the stage hands scooped it up after she walked away. Never underestimate our Stevie because she STILL has it in her whenever she wants to let go of herself during song. It's my fault I never got this on tape though : /

Oh no you're fine thank you for those! I can still make out the wild wardrobe and those subtle sparkly clothes that I love that she wears. I love the embellished tops and sparkle skirts.

IMO the Nebraska version was better, but this was good too. The audience reaction after this was amazing!

I'm pretty sure David was joking, and was actually talking about The Wild Heart Tour, not RAL.
