So I hear.

That's why he went off and recorded this solo album

Later. I ate too much Gouda cheese. I'm constipated.

Maybe you should dust off some maple leaves and learn some French.

it's true. I read it in some biography. and then MC Skat Kat threw Paula over a box of kitty litter and proceeded to choke her. she told him if he didn't stop that she'd call Arsenio Hall and he'd kill MC. after that, things were never the same.

It took a call from the President to get them even speaking to each other again. Sadness.

well, Opposites Attract was the song he chose as his themesong way back in the day. he said, "if I ever become President, I'll have that as my themesong" - and he did.

Paula Abdul's Greatest Hits album is just a re-issue of the previous one. They may have added a couple new tracks, but it's the same album, same artwork etc.

Alright...now, to be fair, the newer Greatest Hits package has the original version of a fantastic song--"My Love is for Real," recorded with this (actually musically talented) Israeli singer, Ofra Haza. The song is gorgeous. The R&B remix that appeared on the first compilation sucks. It's good that the original was remastered this time. But it's true--it's the same artwork (just switched, I think) and that's so tacky.

However, my understanding is that Paula has no control over this. I don't think she has ownership of this music any longer, and the record company is just reaping the benefits of her AI fame. Oh how I loathe AI.

Even so, there are plenty of talented musicians out there who have had their **** released over and over again with deceptively different packaging.

Note: I am not condoning dancing with an animated, rapper cat. That will never be okay.

Carrie,

Sorry this isn't about either Paula Abdul or your post.

I couldn't help but notice that the plants by your foot in the sig pic - Hostas I'm sure - haven't been eaten by slugs or snails - how do you manage that?

C'mon, Carrie. Gosh. She's a renaissance woman. According to PaulaAbdul.net, she's a

"Singer. Songwriter. Choreographer. Dancer. Actress. Producer. Judge."

Can you beat that with a stick?

Okay, I'll admit it--I thought "Prowlin' in the Night" and "Long Distance Rapper" were gems. But really, Abdul is so much more talented than Kat. She made him. He was destined to be a one-hit wonder, at best.

But "My Love is for Real" really is a great song.

Well that's just mean Jazzy, I expected better from you ...

And to the rest of you ... Paula had nothing to do with the releases of either of these best of CDs. Virgin Records put out the first one in 2000, two years before American Idol. This "new" one is simply Virgin trying to cash in on Paula's name, so lay off Paula.

And I'll say this, anyone thinking of buying it online, iTunes has it for 9.99 and you get the artwork via digital download just like Stevie's Crystal Visions. However on Rhapsody, the whole CD costs $11.99 with no artwork. And this "new" best of contains my very favorite Paula song ever "It's All About Feeling Good." It was never a single but it should and could have been. Anyone remember the Cheryl Lynn song "Got To Be Real", it has that same kind of "vibe" and it's awesome.

my favorite was "don't hump my leg again." i hope they do that one on their reunion tour. clearly, tho, MCSK was the artistic visionary of the duo. it was his idea to do that cover shoot topless.
