I need cash for this fall....it's gonna be NUTS in terms of airfare, tickets, hotels, etc. It's a little overwhelming to think about. I wish I could travel around with other Ledgies or something.
I'm thinking about the same thing for next year for Fleetwood Mac. I wont be able to see Lindsey this fall unless he comes to Minneapolis. I overextended myself the last 3 years, but I think I should be able to recover enough to go to some shows in '07. Maybe if I come down Texas way, we could go to a few shows together? I have a car that gets 35 MPG.

The major hosts on NPR make a nice salary.

Yes - they sure do - as do the correspondants and higher ups. I could get onto that track possibly - I mean once you've worked there and left on good terms it's kind of an open door thing - I just don't want to live in DC!!! AND there would probably be years of being a "temp" at NPR - and having to work my ass off I mean HARD to get "up there" I'm happy on the member station level as of now

Ever since I was very young, I've said the job I would really really not want is to be a nurse. Just because it seems incredibly difficult. So, basically, hats off to nurses, who do a job I couldn't imagine doing in a million years. To...hard...caring...for....others....*gasp*.

I teach audiovisual communication for social care workers in professional education. I love to find out new ways for working with video and photography in the everyday communication.

Yeah. I'm a pretty caring bitch. Although, it's much easier to care for relatively healthy young adults than sick older people.

Yeah, I was shocked. I know a host who lives here in LA and found out how much a few of them make and didn't realize the mucky mucks could pull down that much cash !

Oh which host do you know, Renee? Tavis? Alex? hee...you don't have to answer...I actually didn't meet any of the NPR West hosts when I was in DC -though Renee Montagne was there briefly.

Haha! No offense taken. I completely agree with you...doctors couldn't do anything without nurses. I make every effort to get to know all the nurses I work with on a first-name basis. Because let's face it, y'all can make things either really wonderful for us or complete hell! I prefer the former. And I'm very happy to be at an institution right now where the nurses are amazing and very nice...180 from where I went to medical school.

That being said, I'm a resident physician in the first year of my anesthesiology residency. I love it so far, and it's not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. Granted, I'm only about 6 weeks into it but hopefully it'll stay this way!

Brad

This has definately started intriguing me lately. Not that it hasn't before, but recently we have gotten a few patients who do this very same thing (or at least I think they do if I'm getting it correctly.) It's a non profit org. that gives free tests, meds, counseling and so on. I was talking to one of the employees about her job and she loves it. She was able to explain some things to me that I didn't quite understand and I'm definately wanting to learn more.

I sesly need some cash. The Ebay thing isn't going very well and not having work right now....yeah, bad.

Lindsey comes first though. I can see Keith any time, really. I love KU to death, but this is HUGE. I'm sure I'll see KU here in Texas as long as it's not in conflict with any LB shows.

I know exactly what you mean. I mean, I'm not a nurse, but I'm the person down on their level where our Dr. kinda talks over their heads and doesn't listen. When I see that confused look on their face and they start drifting off, I interject and say.."it's like this"....then they get it. anyway, the purpose of me posting this is kind of stupid but it has to do with Gray's Anatomy (or any show like that I guess). I have noticed they really put nurses down on that show..(and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the show....of course not becuase of that!!! ) but I just wondered do you just take it with a grain of salt or does it tick you off when they degrade the nurses..??

and yes....i do know its....just a show...but just curious
