But her voice was in excellent form and her energy is incomparable. She was three chairs away from me during Shine!! I tried to get her to touch my hand, but she was preoccupied by the fact that her chair was rocking and clearly didn't want to fall.

Totally lame audience. Only about 5 of us stood up when she waded into the crowd during Shine. During the encore, she said "you can stand if you want" and finally they did.

Jill Sobule opened the show. She's a hoot. Cyndi came out during her set and did a duet while playing the dulcimer.

Set list follows...SPOILER

Setlist from memory, could be incomplete and out of order)

Mack The Knife (her song from 3 Penny Opera, just a snippet)
?? (something like "that's what I think about when I think about you")
I Drove All Night (Cyndi writhing on stage...hot!)
All Through The Night (after telling a rambling story for 10 minutes)
New song (something like "From The Other Side")
She Bop
Sisters of Avalon
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (went to back of audience)
Above The Clouds (stunning, sat on stage right in front of me)
True Colors (goosebumps!)
Change of Heart
Shine

Encores:

Unchained Melody
?? Duet with Jill Sobule
Money Changes Everything

She's such a perfectionist, that Cyndi. She's always got some issue with the sound, no matter what venue she's in. Can't say I blame her for wanting to put on the best show possible!

That's awesome, though. A friend of mine was also at the SF show, but I haven't heard back from her yet about it. I think that new song is The Other Side of Here; she sang a little on the 'behind the scenes' part of the Body Acoustic DVD. And she sang That's What I Think!! Kick ass!

Jill is totally cute, isn't she? She opened for Cyn when I saw her in Dec. and was just charming.

She did come across as a major perfectionist, and quite manic. It got to be a little distracting with all the restarting of songs and watching her go up to the sound people and band members during instrumental breaks, obviously complaining or trying to correct things.

But when she sang, it was magic!

Yeah.. She's always like that. I don't remember having too many problems last time I saw her, though, but I know sound issues drive her nuts.

She's consistently amazing.

What a great show! My seat was in the 2nd row, but there was no one on the aisle in the front row of my section. The entire front row on the left is only 3 seats wide and I asked the other 2 if they'd mind if I sat there - they didn't. So, I got to touch Cyndi's hip! She was holding the mike in her right hand as she went down the aisle and jumped on an empty seat in the 4th row of the middle section. I got a hand-slap from her another time.

Jill Sobule's set was great - she's hilarious!

Patrice Pike was there w/ a gaggle of what looked like the cast of the L-Word. I said hello to her, gave her a hug - told her "Welcome home" and "You really didn't need that **** anyway." She goes, "I KNOW, right?" And we both cracked up. I told her I had a newfound love for Dave Navarro.

Here's a few pics - you can see how gorgeous this theater is, and how small! It was a real treat to see her in such an intimate venue. She likes to talk a lot - it was kinda like a Storytellers show. I snagged a set list too. We also got Iko Iko as part of the encore. It wasn't on the set list, but she said she wanted to do it because so many Katrina evacuees were now living in Austin, and all over Texas. And like Austin, New Orleans is a city w/ a lot of music and great food.

Set List in Austin *spoiler*

Mack the Knife
That's What I Think
Drove All Night
All Through the Night
True Colors
She Bop
Sisters of Avalon
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
Still With Me
The Other Side of Here
Shine
Change of Heart

Encore:
Time After Time
Money Changes Everything

That's what the set list says - the encore also included a duet w/ Jill Sobule - didn't recognize the song. And they also did Iko Iko right before Money Changes Everything. Jill had a cheat sheet for the lyrics.
