The UK. London, or Manchester. I hear it rains a lot there. I'd feel right at home

Or some place rural.. hm, Groningen? Or.. Scotland <3

Or, some place more warm, dry, and sunny.

Ughh, believe me, after a couple years living here, anyone could learn to hate it. Sure it's pretty in the spring and especially the fall, but the winters are pure HELL, and the summers are so muggy and disgusting that you almost wish it was -10 degrees.

I know what you mean about the beach tho. I live about the same distance from the beach, and I never go. Ever. I still think it's pretty to look at though.

In Strand's house. I'm hoping I'd be treated as well as his dogs.

U.S. - Southern Utah; San Diego; Charlottesville, Virginia

Global - Varna, Bulgaria

Realistically - Somewhere up in the Adirondak Mountains, perhaps near Saranac Lake or the AuSable River.

Thumbs up Well...

I will add NYC to my previous choices mainly because of the info in the link below:

Seems this summer may get very interesting!

It would definitely be San Fransisco, CA. I went for a week, two summers ago, and I didn't want to leave. Between the amazing food, the rich musical history, beautiful architecture, friendly people, the bay, etc. I don't see any place that compares. It is also extremely close to Napa and Sonoma, and I am such a wine freak. It is the perfect place for me.

A close second would be Hawaii. I went there for my honeymoon, and it is amazing too. I love the whole "mountains on one side and ocean on the other side" thing.

Doesn't exist on THIS planet! (at least, a place that meets ALL the criteria)

Oslo, Norway
If I were to choose something more "arty", it would have to be Berlin or New York.

Hmm, I thought I posted this last night, and i don't see it...
I would keep a place in San Francisco, and then go live in Galicia, and I might have to have a house (or at least a hut) in Hanalei.
Hey, that's not too much to ask, is it?

I can't believe how many people here are willing to tolerate icky weather in their "places they most want to live".
Interesting.
England? Ireland? San Francisco? Northwest Coast? Sheesh. Buncha soggy mofos!!!!
And cold! Some of you don't mind the cold! It boggles my little sun/swimming/hardly-any-clothes loving mind!
It's good, though, that way my places won't get hella crowded.
I'd like to add Greece and Spain. Any Mediteranean (sp) access place....
And I'd like to give a shoutout to Catinthedark....
