I agree, PH.
It would even be awesome if the two acts actually played together just in New Brunswick. But the thing about the city 'asking' them to come and making a big deal about it is it doesn't mean that anyone will say yes. As if Fleetwood Mac and Tom Petty don't have anything else to do. This reminds me of when the mayor of Toronto asked the Spice Girls and whatsherface to get back together. (Is this a Canadian thing?!) ...never happened.

So I guess it all boils down to waiting and see what's up..Although my boss too ,seems to think its going to happen? (we do the stage work and so on for the bands..

I agree PH. Not to mention that both Stevie and John McVie have said things about the next Mac tour being in early 2007. They will not even begin rehearsals with FM until Jan. for a tour "early next year". I would love to see Stevie and Petty perform together, especially my favorite 'Insider' but I just do not see it ever happening.

Well I just finished watching our local evening news...
 Here is where we seem to stand on these "Rumours"..They interviewed the local concert promoter as well as the Dj who started all this and got me all pumped up.. The promoter said it will be at least 4 weeks before they can make a offical announcement...He went on to say that while he can;t deny or confirm who will be playing here this summer and fall..it will be big .He went onto to mention that when the Stones played here last fall ,there was indeed reps from U2 and "other bands" checking out the New concert site. The Dj just said that while it has not been offically confirmed ..it is looking like for real for U2...the Mac /Petty.. Sorry for all the nay sayers/just repeating what I heard on the news..and yes I am a big girl and realize we should not believe everything we hear..I don't profess to 'Know someone who knows someone' ...just putting in print what I have heard on the radio and on the Tv/..When my boss calls me and tells me I am working "That Show"..then I will truly believe its happening!! Hmmm what should I wear... think Stevie would mind if I wear my tophat??.. Anyway...I for one really hope this show happens..it would be one of my dreams come true..if not I will wait till 2007 and travel to whereever i need to go to see them ..and hopefully run into some more ledgies like in 2005..
