Chicagoland might not be, but you get far enough south, and Illinois is one big redneck zoo.

Anything south of Springfield may as well not exist.

I'm from Southern IL and that's pretty true, though not as much so in the metro East. When I moved to Kentucky people treated me like a "Yankee," which suprised me, because culturally, the two areas are very similar.

GAG. There's not shaking anyone's cage. It's a mockery of country music. It's one big publicity stunt. And it's just like listening to anything on a pop station....one big gimmick for sales.

Coming to Your City is one the of worst songs I have ever heard.

Gretchen is going to be around for a long time. Shes just like Madonna to some sorts. Just because both are trashy, they are hated by many. If Gretchen was more sugar coated and G rated like the rest, no one would have anything negative to say about her.

To say her 15 minutes are about over is ignorant. One show did not sell well no big deal, just look at her record sales.

Sara Evans is beautiful and can sing well, but she bores me to tears. Anyone else could replicate her performance and sing better.

The whole MuzikMafia is carrying on in the tradition of Bocephus, Waylon Jennings & Willie Nelson. Country music NEEDS people like that to make sure that there's more to country music than the "cookie cutter" crap that comes out of Nashville. Same with Dwight Yoakam...he was CONSPICUOUSLY absent from the procedings on Tuesday.

They had a chance to really make that a good show by honoring Johnny Cash with some real country stars doing his songs. Instead they put Kid Rock and Jerry Lee Lewis together to ruin the song and then there was Sheryl. Her performance alone made me change channels.

As for the CMA's, for some reason the performances were a bit lackluster this year and I'm not sure if all their earpieces were malfunctioning but most sounded off key.

but the industry is moving back towards "traditional country" (Lee Ann Womack's "Album of the Year" win at the CMA's is proof of that) which means the MuzikMafia may be in for a uphill battle (I hate Gretchen Upchuck, I like Big & Rich's music just not them & a rapping Cowboy has been done before with failing results back in the early 90's)

Now Dwight Yoakam, Along with Gary Allan & Cross Canadian Ragweed, are the kind of artists country music does need...But unfortunately they will never get the publicity from having the likes of CMT asskissing 'em.

(Btw, my dislike of Gretchen Wilson has nothing to do with her popularity, I dont care for hardly any female country artists...Only one I have a disc of is Jamie O'Neal and the only other I like is Miranda Lambert who was very rocking in concert.)

Have you heard that thing she calls "Wildflower"? Something has happened to her voice and it's quite unpleasant. High-pitched, piercing, and obnoxious as all hell. I'm not liking Sheryl much these days, which is sad because I used to love her.

Nope, I chose not to waste money on that album. It's actually the only one of hers that I don't own.

She needs to get back into whatever mindset/environment she was in when she made Sheryl Crow and Globe Sessions, and put out a quality album again. Otherwise, see ya, Sheryl.

I agree. Bring back the angry, bitter Sheryl! ("If It Makes You Happy" video comes to mind), that's the Sheryl I love!

Did you see Cheryl on the Johnny Cash tribute thing the other night?
