Water's Edge is beautiful. The whole album is a masterpiece.

I can't wait to see Cyndi in Threepenny Opera in March.

^^ isn't it though? i almost can't bear it.

i have to say, i don't love the whole album. i listen only to water's edge, money changes everything, shine (i love this song), and i'll be your river.

i really would have loved to hear a new version of when you were mine. it was always my favourite song on "she's so unusual." still is - i listen to it still all the time.

I love all of it except for Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, but I never liked that song to begin with.

I think Shine is one of the greatest songs of all time. My heart sings when I hear it.

First time I ever heard it was when I saw Cyndi open for Cher in '02. She opened her set with it, belting out "Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnne" and walked right into the audience to sing the entire song. I was in tears.

Then Cher came on an hour later and I went home.

Shine is amazing. I like it even better than the original. My heart sings when I hear it, too... Good way of putting it. I get chills when I hear that first "Shiiiiiiiiine!" I feel like I can fly when I listen to it.

ETA ~ If anyone's interested, I posted some new pictures from a Japanese magazine: http://community.livejournal.com/lau...ily/37302.html They're simply stunning! My printer is going to be busy...

I don't usually listen to reviews much, although I can't say I'm too excited to hear Shaggy ruin any of her tunes, esp. All Through The Night. Wieland is so hit & miss, depending on if he's high/sober/manic/depressed, it's hard to say how he'll be. I will be watching for Cyndi. I have the Tivo ready.

Anyone see it? It aired several times on VH1 Classic this past weekend. I thought it was great, although I do prefer her live DVD from last year. Wieland didn't seem too messed up & his voice sounded pretty good - loved them together on Money Changes Everything, and Barbarella was fantastic! Pat Monahan (sp) - eh. Ani Difranco - she barely did anything, I was disappointed. Shaggy - not as terrible as I feared, I didn't mind him on All Through The Night.

As usual, True Colors was fab, and Shine is always unbelievable.

I'm recording Decades this morning - I watched bits and pieces of it over the weekend. Her voice is amazing!! Gave me goosebumps several times. I'm looking forward to seeing the songs with Scott Weiland. I adore him!

Paula, have you noticed the Patty Griffin (Maybe the saddest...") thread??

Haven't seen this, but someone posted an mp3 of Change of Heart-- amazingly well done as an acoustic song. She should've put that on the Body Acoustic instead of Girls.

when I saw Cher I think she and Cyndi had just had their falling out so she wasn't opening for her anymore...I was pissed. we got some lowlife comic...he was kinda funny but I'd rather see Cyndi.

by the way, youtube has a couple of live performances of Shine...I'm with y'all that Shine is one of the best songs ever

That wasn't on the special, but I just read somewhere that VH1 Classic did a "Hanging With" special right before and/or after it, which I missed. Dammit. Apparently, she did 4 or 5 tunes accoustically. Dammit.

They had a falling out? Over what, any idea? I remember Cyndi praising her in her online tour diary, saying what a good egg she was, and all that.

I posted that live peformance, along with other stuff, btw. I thought youtube could use more Cyn.
