Default Best Sports Rivalries

Well, I can view this from 2 different fronts. Being a Red SOx fan, I have been a part of the Yankee-Red SOx rivalry since 1978. and BEing a Vikings fan, we have our neighbors to the east the Green Bay Packers. I always hated the colors green and gold anyway. But it's always fun watching those games. I mean, I get more jacked up for that football game twice a year than any other team the Vikings play.

Of course, since I'm a HUGE University of Tennessee Football fan (I graduated from there.), I'm going to say the Tennessee vs. Alabama game. IT is the biggest rivalries I can think of. It is an all out war.

Cardinals vs. Cubs, baby.

And being a UK grad, I'd have to say UK vs. U of L, Duke, Tennessee, and Indiana.

You're buddy Christian Laettner right? I hate him too. He came here to Minnesotato play in the NBA as a high draft pick, and was pretty much a dog.

most definitely the red sox-yankees~ of course i am a DIEHARD RED SOX fan~ whenever we see the yanks play us in fenway, it is the best~ people throw hot dogs @ ea other & give ea other stares of "if looks could kill"~ i think the past 2 yrs w/ the play-offs & the bo-soxs finally winning the world series were some of the most drama filled games i have ever watched~ not to mention the drama from '86~ i love me some bo-sox!!!~

Default You guys probably haven't heard of this....

The rivalry between Rangers and Celtic (2 "soccer" teams in Scotland) has to be one of the bitterest

"The result of the combination of the two clubs' dominance of Scottish football, and their significance in social, cultural and political terms, is that both Celtic and Rangers are prominent institutions in Scottish life to a degree beyond what would be expected for large football clubs elsewhere in Britain."

"The competition between the two clubs has its roots in more than just a simple athletic rivalry. It is infused with a series of complex disputes centred on religion (Catholic and Protestant) and Irish politics. The result has been an enduring enmity between fans that has extended beyond the kind of intra-city footballing rivalry that might be expected in situations where two clubs dominate a country's footballing scene. This has been manifested in a history laden with violent incidents, sometimes leading to deaths."

In the west of Scotland, life revolves around Rangers and Celtic. Everyone has a preference (almost always corresponding to their religion). Its kind of scary sometimes!!

There are usually assaults after matches, and there have even been murders.
