I really like the demo version of that song. The album version, though, is too maudlin.

I watched the DVD last night (it's the second night's performance, right?) and didn't get it. I guess it's one of those you had to be there kind of things.

I know. It's anticlimactic. Didn't she sing it the same way on the RAL Tour though?

I really wish If You Were My Love had been included on Mirage. I love that version best.

Here and there. But at least on that tour she had her crazy stage antics and wild voice to carry it, even without "my lonely one," in my opinion. Now it just sounds like she's too lazy to sing it, dammit.

This song sort of worked in reverse for me in that I didn't really "get it" until I heard the demo, which was after I'd heard the released version.
I kind of feel the same way about Sweet Girl although I liked it just fine on The Dance. And I'd still love to hear the whole Silver Girl demo. The snippet on the Destiny Rules doc sounded like a big improvement over the finished song.

She didn't even sing My Lonely One on the Street Angel tour. I think she's just forgotten that lyric is in the song. But Up until that shes kicking the songs ass. What'd you think of the way she sings Go ON GET OUT for the Saturday show.

AGREED!

When I was listening to the audio and that climax came I was like WTF! I immediatley yelled to someone online because I was so pissed LOL! After all the great reviews from the Vegas people I thought she would have said it but nope........

Yea it has to be because there is nothing special about it from my ears. If I was there it would be totally different just because it hasnt been done in 11 years or so.

Baby, Baby, Baby!

Mistaken LOVE... by a long shot...

All others are but pale shadows.

But since that wasn't included, had to go with the only song on that entire list that I actually like: Love Is.

She only performed it twice on that tour. It was dropped after Jones Beach.

It really was the kind of thing you had to be there for. I watched the bootleg and it doesn't give it justice at all. And it's not the vocals that were great, but the performance. Vocal-wise Saturday's were the best, imo.

It was so odd how she made missing her cues actually work for her on that tour. She's never been able to make it work like that again.

Very powerful. Wonder who she told to get out?
