I think it's as pretty as the animal. I love "x's" too. And? the Lynx is not for a boy, it's for a girl. I think it's grand to name a child after a beautiful animal. But then, I was raised that way, and you weren't, eh? Not like I would name my kid....deer, or mountain lion, or cheetah...i was considering Coyote once, though... but I enjoy the mythology of the coyote in native american lore...see? different. I just think Lynx is a pretty, evocative name.
Also, a middle name will probably have to be "Rain". that's my best friend's name, and it reminds me of Stevie, too! One of her kids is named "River". Yep, we're all just a bunch of native american hippies out here....

Beats me. Maybe because you can only manage to do it so infrequently.

Eek. I was born with brass balls and piss and vinegar pumping through my veins. I was never good at breaking up with people, it is very depressing. Even when I couldn't stand to be around them any longer, I felt sad.

Not anyone. If I have kids, I want me to be their daddy.

I think Marissa Lee is a beautiful name. And my best friends brother was named "Leigh" so I don't know what your mom was thinking with that. And as far as being too difficult? I have five middle names, and could write them young, so... Oh, well, you have a pretty name anyways, so that's good.

Lynx is sort of a neat name. I like the sound of it. I couldn't give my child a name so different though for fear of scarring him for life! It is a beautiful creature, I still have the lynx picture I posted in Pattie's wildcat thread as my desktop background. It's so gorgeous!

Try having Catherine Emily as a little kid. -_-

Thanks, Suze. I like the sound of it, too. I don't think someone would be scarred by having that name... It's not like it's "asshole" or something. It's just an animal. And the good part is, it's not regular, so people will remember it. And, in my head, associate it with a pretty animal! yay!

It might happen only infrequently, but when it does, it's never been because I was trying. Maybe that's the part I enjoy most. *lol*

The names you picked, while nice, mostly seemed too modern/trendy/Yuppie to me. But, hey, they're not my kids!

It took me a long time to find my "voice"... but it was hard won, and that means a lot to me.

I was too meek to break up with him at the time, but I'd sure as hell do it now.

Most mentions of bodily fluids make me gag, so you've discovered me weak spot.

My cool, trendy kids will not hang out with your kids, obviously. Your kids won't have any playdates. Poor buggers.

Ah, young love. I think it took me weeks to finally break up with my first girlfriend. And she wanted to break up, too!

On a cold day in Hell. Calista for a girl, Jude for a boy. That is all. It's in the prenup, black and white, clear as crystal.

I've always loved the names Aidan and Liv.

I probably will never have children, but ... who knows.

Honestly, I can't believe you ever have shmex. Are you there all the time with an antibacterial towel? Do you tell people: "that's too gross, I can't do it"? Do you say..."let me put down this plastic first"? and "hey! I just changed these sheets!" or whattabout..."go take a shower, then please leave"? Or maybe..."hey! no kissing! too much slobber!"

Doing the act is one thing, but actually sitting there and discussing actual fluids grosses me out, dear.

Sweaty, dirty sex is the best, so I can't be that bad.

All right, all right. I don't like to discuss stuff either. For instance, I hate snot. hate it. But also, I wouldn't say "bodily fluids are gross" b/c that's just not always the case...I would say..."they are gross except in this one context...."
