I really enjoyed visiting St. Louis everytime I've been there. I love to go down by the river where the cobblestone streets are and visit all the little bars. I love to stay at the Union Station Hotel (Beautiful Lobby) with the mall attached! It is a great town to me, but I was only visiting. I guess you have a different outlook if it is your hometown.

Next time you're in Gatlinburg, you should give me a call. I only live 20 minutes from there. I would love to meet a fellow Ledgie! I agree with what you said above. Gatlinburg was better before it got all touristy! At least it isn't as touristy as Pigeon Forge! That is where Dollywood and all that stuff is. I don't really care for it at all. Unlike Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg still has its appeal---it is still fairly quaint, and the mountains/Smoky Mountain National Park, which it borders, is just beautiful.

Well since you have a good excuse, you're off the hook... IF you give SJ another shot!

Why's Boston on your "don't care for" list Brian? I love Boston, and we are very l... open minded up here. It is effing cold. But we have the Sox, the Pats, chowdah, the Charles, North End (great Italian, oldest Boston neighborhood), Faneuil Hall, Sam Adams, etc.

The only thing I hate is the chowdah. How bloody disgusting.

Good to me too. All they have over there are Dutch and Asian restaurants so this would be an excellent diversion. I <3 Amsterdam. Dutch food is so boring, although they do have fabulous breads. Also, for breakfast they eat jam and croissants with cheese and bread, that was yummy. They could use a Tex Mex to mix it up!

I'm not into the coffee shop thing but I love that they are there. The open mindedness is great and I found the people to be nice. Most of them speak English. I was lost one day and asked a video store clerk for directions. I could not distinguish the street names she was saying cuz they are all "thisstracht" and "thatstracht" so the clerk drew me a map! That was so sweet.

Do you have the Boston accent, Diss?

I've never been anywhere, so won't rate my favorite cities. SF is overrated, IMO, however. Except for the natural surroundings part. That part is good.

Oh, hell no, especially compared to some the god-awful ones that exist out there. I have a slight foreign accent from growing up with my grandparents (they were French), but I can turn it on and off.

You'd need earplugs then at one of my family gatherings! I had the accent, it is mostly gone, but it sneaks in sometimes. Especially after spending time with my family or after a couple of cocktails.

awwwww.....I bet you have a little one and you don't know it, though. I've heard a lot of people say they don't have an accent, but really they do.

I hope not. But if I did, I wouldn't really realize it, you're right.
