My apartment is pretty much totally IKEA, which isn't a good thing, but it's not necessarily that bad. I'm still very much in my post-college completely broke decorating phase. They have some terrible cheap crap, ugly colors, ugly styles, overly mod- but they have some nice pieces and good bargains. I love my bed - and I have a great TV bench that's totally simple but I really like. I also like their some of their linens- they actually have great curtains and sheets, and I have a great duvet cover from them. I need a new couch, and was thinking about this one .

I go really, really crazy in Target. I love Target. And Michael's or JoAnn's in the yarn section. I'm a total yarn whore. I also get crazy in Trader Joe's, Virgin/Tower/Best Buy/Borders, and the Fresh store on Halsted.

LOL - I thought about that as I was posting - that people probably have IKEA - I think if people like it or if it suits them for that period great. That is the thing about anything like furniture, clothes, etc. If it works for me - great - and the HELL with what others may think

IKEA is totally a mixed bag. The store itself makes me want to break out into hives, but for my budget- it works. I could spend the same amount of money on cheap furniture from Penneys or something, like a couch that's half polyester and half floral print, or try and troll garage sales, or do whatever- or, I can go to IKEA and get something that I at least like and will hopefully enjoy until it breaks down like the crap it is and I can afford to get something that's actually nice.

I do look forward to someday actually having nice things. That will be really quite nice!!

Everytime I would see Bobby Trendy's **** on that show I'd just want to SNEEZE- can you imagine sleeping with pillows like that? Those awful faux feathers getting in your mouth or something- there's nothing like trying to peel maribou off your tongue- and in your nose- ugh. Bobby Trendy's company should've been called ****ing Sneezy Town.

(I'm venting about this since I got smashed last night and woke up this morning doing exactly that-peeling maribou off my tongue- since apparently I passed out wearing an awful feather boa? WTF?)

Heaven is Borders Books and Music (books, CDs, Mags, and snacks)...and maybe a Virgin or Tower for their Music Mags.

Pattie, I get the same excitement going into Staples but I even like buying pens and stuff. I like getting different color gel pens for my journal, or just a really nice pen. When my printer was working I would get all kinds of neat stuff for it like printable canvas, t-shirt transfer, business card paper, etc.

I go crazy in The Gap, I love that store. I got this fab retro velvet jacket there this year that I had no business buying. I spend way too much money there.

Same with Banana, I have to just go to the clearance rack and then lleave the store lest I pay retail for anything!

DSW, rows and rows of shoes at great discounts. I am not allowed in there unless I actually "need" shoes.

Borders books and music, similarly to many who have posted before me. I went there recently looking for a specific book and had to keep redirecting myself away from stuff lest I spend a fortune.

Jewelry stores, again, I am not allowed in these.

Ski markets, I could spend ungodly amounts on ski equipment and have.

Makeup counters, I am only allowed near these when they are having their giveaways.

Offbeat boutiques, they have the most unique things and I can spend hours pouring over them.
