Whether you like her songs or not, there's something about Tina Turner that's eternally cool. I think it's just her, regardless of her songs...

You know, last night I saw a commercial for one of her CD's, and they were showing a bunch of clips of her and stuff, and i was thinking I might actually like to see her in Concert!

Hasn't she retired from the stage?

Hey, you know, if you ever look at the Who's Online list, there's always at least one guest who is looking at an extreamly old thread. What's so interesting about thread that died months ago?

yes, undoubtedly. Like I said, here, even if you don't like her songs, there is just something very, very, "cool" about Tina herself.

Well since I don't known (and never have known) the meaning of "cool" in the general sense, I'll go with my own definition. Here's my list:

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Genesis
CCR (I make no apologies for this one)
Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band
U2 (although I cringe everytime I hear Bono say "Uno, dos, tres, catorce" in Vertigo. Catorce means 14!)
R.E.M.
Pretenders
The Doors
Queen

Anybody mention Styx yet? How about Kansas? They were popular in my Dungeons and Dragons days. I liked a few of their songs.

I'm a little late here, but I totally agree Jessica!!! Cher is timeless and eternally cool IMO!

For those who listed No Doubt...I don't know about that. I love No Doubt, but will they be cool in say, 10 years? Or will people be talking about them like they're just that band that was cool in the mid to late 90s? Even if Gwen proves to have a long and successful solo career, that'll be her and not the band. So, I don't think you can put them with bands like The Beatles or Fleetwood Mac at this point. I know there are different definitions of "cool," but I don't think we can say they're eternally cool yet.
