Well, I liked him in The Big Chill (edited version), I think he gave his best in it.

I haven't seen The Aviator yet, but this seems the perfect year to give the Oscar to Martin Scorsese, even if I would prefer Mike Leigh, Alejandro Amenabar or Clint Eastwood.

Other random predictions:
Oscar to Dante Ferretti (art director) and Francesca Lo Schiavo (set decorator) for The Aviator
Stevie solo album + tour+ my first trip to US
Christine's Q&A
Berlusconi's government will fall (this MUST happen)
A DVD I've been waiting for 2 months will finally arrive
Anthony Hopkins would stop saying in every interview: " Don't ask me this, I'm just an actor".
My dog will stop eating all my pens.

He's just not the guy I used to like, tho. Robin Hood is one of my fave movies. Alan Rickman plays a great slimeball.

Good one!!!!!!!!!!!!

AND - did you know that Altman's Short Cuts was just released on Criterion DVD?! I snatched it up as soon as I saw it the other day. It comes with two discs and paperback book of all the short stories. If you like that flick, you should check it out. One of the best DVD's I own.

My DVD wish list has just got a new number one. I love everything of Short Cuts (my favourite by Altman, together with Nashville and The Player): Carver's stories, the inspired direction, the amazing acting, Annie Ross . It's a movie I'm never tired of.
