BS...well, if we lived in some more primitive, tribe like situation, the rest of the tribe would kill these people... to keep the evil from spreading
But, since we don't do that, and cringe at the death penalty, I think these people should NEVER get out. Life sentence, for sure. LIFE! Also, i think many of them are not naturally that way, but were themselves abused. Even more reason to keep them locked up forever. I can't help but think that would slow the perpetuation. Sucks for Catholic Priests!

Well, I am unsure how many, but I know some states give a life sentence for rape. So, this should be covered by those states.

There is some evidence that pedophilia is genetic in nature. I am NOT saying it's not wrong, but it may be a case of "I was born that way." Don't ask me for proof because I don't remember where I read it, but I have done a lot of research on pedophilia and sexual abuse.

I know - I remember reading that as well. But, people are born insane as well So, I think even the genetic make up of the pedophile does not excuse it, etc. (not that you were arguing that ) - Maybe they will be able to cure it one day.

Rapists rarely have to stay in for life, and - really? I've never heard of this Not that you're wrong, i'm just suprised...nothing i'm sure a little research won't cure

Not in Texas. They have such a crowded prison system that they release prisoners every year because there isn't any room, even if they've only served a couple of years.

Well, i had a friend who said, as young as he could remember, like really little, he had a thing about being tied up, and rendered immobile, so, maybe....

Yes, that resembles the bulk of what i've heard about rapists and child molesters, here in Cali, too...and i haven't come across anything about rapists getting life...course, i don't regularly look into that...

So, are Amber and I the only ones who have a problem with this? Because I really do. But like someone already said, I can choose not to fly. If I ever want to really go somewhere, though, that's incredibly inconvenient...

No, you're not, I also have a problem with it. I wouldn't like that one bit.

But that is not the issue. The issue is does the security interest the state has in protecting airline passengers, people in buildings, etc. outweigh that. I am unsure how anyone can conclude it does not. In fact, I personally am floored anyone would even make such an argument. But, people do and that is their right. Again, imagine if sitting on a plane and the terrorist whips out the plastic gun that could have been detected via that scan. I think I would then say "me and my stupid ideas"
