Where's the credibility? Not here, because there is none. It hasn't been verified and it never will, because it's not true. That's just common sense.

I think we should, starting with Isreal. But, certainly you are not arguing we should

And - these people have not directly threatened us or our allies and they were or are not under UN scrutiny, etc. Plus, historically, we have done just that.

Well, not really. I mean for Putin to make that statement and know it is untrue is strange and likely not to have happened. Why should Putin risk his credibility to help W when W is despised in his country and all over the world. The whole thing is just strange. I think more will come to light soon. If it proved to be true, W will walk on water.

Saddam didn't threaten us. Saddam was under intense scrutiny (even though you'll NEVER admit that).

Unless a country commits and act of war against us, we have no right to invade it and take over. Sorry, you're not selling that **** to me.

Again, common sense.

Putin made that claim, but ponder it for a moment and you'll see how absurd it truly is. Do you think Saddam would attack us, then expect us not retaliate? We'd be dispatched to war with Iraq immediately and Iraq would have no WMDs to fight us with.

Hello - I just did I have always said SH was under a huge amount of scrutiny, with the possible exception of when he thre the UN inspectors out. BTW - please show me how we have taken over Iraq with no intent of giving it back to the Iraqi people. I think we are doing that right now Interestingly, the end of the first Gulf War was predicated on SH complying with the terms of the peace agreement. The UN said time and time again that SH did not comply with those terms. So, the situation with Iraq is different from that vantage point.

I agree, if we knew it was SH doing the attacking. SH may have figured the attack would be credited to Al-Q.

Also, why would Putin make the statement. Surely, its veracity can be checked out. Surely Putin has political rivals that could use it against him. Again, we need more on this strange statement.

I know you subscribe to the belief that we're giving the country back on July 1st, but a lot of us don't. It's all a joke and it will all be run by the US. We handpicked all leaders. For cripes sake, the new "President" of Iraq has the shelf life of a June bug.

Don't we already have one? Oh, that's "compassionate conservative." Nevermind.

Russert could have asked some more follow up questions other than the one he asked after he asked How are you?
