I think that the sex of Lindsey's baby is in a completely different ballpark than what we're discussing in this thread. But hey, I could be wrong.

If Lindsey didn't want people to know ahead of time, he wouldn't have told anyone.

Livia,

I don't want you to go but, all the other boards have the spoilers on it too.

ME TOO

If people don't use SPOILER - they will not hear from me anymore!!!!!

P.S. other Ledgies, not you, used self-centered and rude in this and other threads, I was quoting and/or paraphrasing them in reponse to what they said.

First of all, you guys are right. It was rude and harsh of me to call people “idiots.” And for that, I do sincerely apologize. I was angry. We’ve all said and done things out of anger. Not my finest moment…sorry!

I don’t have a computer at home, but I do have a telephone. And I was well-informed of what was happening on the Ledge all weekend. I considered not saying anything, in order to not “fuel this fire.” However, those of you who know me are well-aware that I’m not the “just sit there and take it” type. So, allow me to respond, especially to the comments and questions that were directed solely toward me (and have a bit of fun):

Good riddance, ya spoiled brat! Don't let the screen door bang you on your way out. It takes some nerve for someone to cast a pall on everybody's enjoyment over this exciting news. This is what a fan forum is for- to share this kind of information that most fans want to know. If you don't want to know, then what the f**k are you doing in a fan forum? That's just like walking into a sailor's locker room and not expecting to hear any swear words.

Please don't come back until you have apologized to the people you have offended with your selfish, obnoxious rant.
(Seinfeld voice) Hellooooo, Newbie!

What part of my second post on this thread did you not understand? I’m not *really* gone. I’ve heard about your posts on other threads here. For the new kid on the block, you seem to enjoy antagonizing people and picking fights. What a way to make a first impression.

So, let me get this straight – you chastised ME for being rude, and you don’t consider the comment you made to me rude and mean-spirited? This one’s too easy: Hello, Kettle? This is Pot. You’re black!

Get out and volunteer your time - do something constructive - and grow up!
I heard you put up a second post, which also contained spoiler info in your subject line. Would you walk out of a movie theater after seeing something like The Others or the Sixth Sense and blurt the ending to the folks waiting in line for the next showing? To me, that seems like something a selfish, spoiled brat would do. Or Ralph Malph (“Rosebud was a sled!” “Anthony Perkins plays his own mother!”) LOL

I, as well as other Ledgies, voluntarily spent oodles of time on Ticketmaster last year, finding those magical, last-minute seats in the first 5 rows. I believe my selfless efforts were constructive and benefited many.

(Cartman voice, when he was a guest on Jerry Springer) "You don't know me!" LOL You have no idea how busy and full my life is, aside from the Ledge.

Whether or not you believe Livia was being rude, you have no place to say so because you've proven yourselves to rude with the comments you all have made. She and others simply asked that when talking about stuff that may spoil the surprise of an upcoming Mac-related thing, you put the seven-lettered word "spoiler" in the thread title. Is that too much to ask? Anyone who's been on this board since the start of the tour knows that practically everyone has put the word in their title when posting their reviews, they even put it in the title when talking about the album before it came out last year. It's common courtesy. Learn, live it, use it. Get down off the cross, somebody needs the wood.
Word!

Someone, somewhere, made a comment akin to "I thought the internet was for getting information...."

True. So are television and newspapers. But the deluge of too much (or undesirable) information can sometimes be a bad thing. I don’t watch CNN all day because it depresses me. I don’t read the sports page because, aside from college football season, it doesn’t interest me. However, just because I CHOOSE not to watch too much CNN or read the sports page, doesn’t mean I’m taking it away from others. Capiche? And btw, other uses for the internet: downloading music, having discussions on message boards, exchanging e-mails, entering sweepstakes, paying bills, etc. And avoiding posts that obviously contain spoiler info. ;-) I know someone who spends most of his time on the internet playing interactive games and downloading porn. Heh.

In addition to Vianna’s sticky at the top of the board, I believe Marty (our esteemed webmaster of this site) was the one who originated the “non-spoiler info in the subject line” policy, way back on the Dance tour. So, if you’re going to come into Marty’s “home,” then you can at least abide by the rules. Once the tour begins, a subject like, “My Atlanta Review” is going to contain spoilers. You don’t have to literally type “spoiler” in every subject heading. I still can’t fathom why some of you don’t “get it.” The folks on the burnish board have instilled the same policy, and nobody over there is complaining about it, or calling people names….

And finally, I wrote this little ditty to drive the point home:

(To the tune of “I Don’t Wanna Know”)

Chorus:

We don’t wanna know the set list now
‘Cause we’d really much rather be surprised
We don’t wanna stand between others posting
We just really want to be surprised

Finally, Ledgies
The next leg is startin’ now
Take a listen to our pleadings
Don’t blurt the songs out loud
Post all that you want to
But don’t spoil in your subject line
You got me a rockin’ and a reelin’

Oooooooh (repeat chorus)’

Peace Out!

Sorry, Livia, but even I must take issue with your comments now. Come on. I mean, just look at this stanza:

Quote:
We don’t wanna know the set list now
‘Cause we’d really much rather be surprised
We don’t wanna stand between others posting
We just really want to be surprised
Can't you see the second line is way too long? It has far too many syllables, which means the line won't fit with the meter of the song. Geeessh...

I have to admit this thread was just the ticket for a so-far dull day. Thank you all. I had avoided it until now, and now I'm glad I read it.

However, it saddens me to see so much misdirected antagonism. So in the spirit of conciliation, I am going to quote a modern-day hero of the masses:

"Can't we all just get along?"

Otherwise, you know who wins... Right?

LOL!! "Love keeps right on walkin' on down the line" = 10 syllables.

"Cause we'd really much rather be surprised" = 10 syllables.

So there! ;-)

Even when you feel like peeps are hating,
I know that you'll post on forever cuz you're that good.

Lack of Spoilers of the moment are not endless
This website is your life's love.

Oh and anytime you think about leaving think about what you know,
Think about it, think about it before you go!

God, what a horrible rendition, (I only had five minutes to write it) please don't throw tomatoes.

Wait a minute, Ledgies
Hush-up for just awhile
Said you'd write spoiler
In your subject line...

DrownDing in this sea of posts
Where everyone just loves to spoil
Well, now we know
It came from your big mouth
But if you go to shows,
Then keep your trap shut

All Livia ever wanted
Was to know that she'd be surprised...
"Spoilers..."
