However, the treasury does not issue money. The Federal Reserve Board does. It is neither federal nor a reserve. Every state does not have a federal treasury but a state treasury. The states do not issue money and have not since the Confederacy, if I'm not mistaken. Some states, such as Nevada recognize precious metals, such as silver, as a form of commerce.
