That wasn't what we were discussing, but nice job trying to spin. I think I conceded as much when I said Hollywood and critics loves to heap lavish praise on such mainstream garbage. The tagline alone for that film makes me retch.

I know - it seems like all one needs to do is direct a boxing movie where the lead character/boxer is the come back kid who gets all dirty and there is your nomination

A good friend always says "play an idiot or get dirty and there's your Oscar winner"

That guy really thinks he's hot ****.

Hotels should ban him worldwide.

Default My Two Cents

I? Am a Russell Crowe fan. And I'm not ashamed to admit it.

I own nearly every movie he's made, as well as all three of Thirty Odd Foot of Grunts' albums and have seen them in concert (And, btw, I really do like his music) I have yet to see Cinderella Man, but I have every intention of seeing it.

I think he's one of the most talented actors in Hollywood today. I also think he's incredibly sexy. He has been in some incredibly horrible movies (see Hammers Over the Anvil and Breaking Up) but, IMO, did the best that could be done with those roles. Gladiator is one of my favorite movies. I saw it five times in the theaters and own the dvd, vhs and book. There is a large poster for the movie hanging over my bed and two framed 8x10s of him on my wall.

Is he my favorite actor? No. I think he's a hot-headed asshole who deserves to be punished to the full extent of the law (Not to mention be forced to take anger management classes). On the other hand, the full extent of the law could include the revokation of his visa, which would effectively end his Hollywood career since he would be unable to film in or even enter the United States and that would be a shame.

He was on Letterman last night - first thing he said was something like, "You never call me anymore." Laughter from audience, and Dave goes, "Oh yeah, that reminds me...." and he unplugged the phone on his desk and hid it behind some scenery. Russell made a public apology, said it was stupid, and the guy he hurt won't talk to him yet, but he wants to apologize to him...he added that he's not used to being away from his wife and son...but by no means was he making excuses for his behavior. It was classy, imo....and then I started channel surfing during the commercials and missed Paul Anka, dammit!

Yeah, TOFG rocks! I saw them a couple years ago. Freaky fans dressed in gladiator outfits - good times!

They should give him what an average "Joe" would get in the same circumstances. If that means loosing his Visa....So be it. You act like an idiot, you pay the price.

I agree. But his visa won't get revoked. He won't get the harshest punishment; probably just a slap on the wrist.

Do you have Spotswood aka The Efficiency Expert too?

I think he's a very good actor but Hollywood is already eating him alive due to his awful attitude.

That was a heck of a pissing contest. Even for you two ! Excellent.

Russell Crowe is a drunk bitch with an anger management problem.

His acting - okay. His music - unintentionally funny.

I think Crowe is a gifted actor .I was hoping hitting 40 and having a kid would mellow him out and he'd stop behaving like a bore in an outback pub. After this latest incident I think psych meds should be a consideration.I love to watch Sean Penn in films too and I'm glad he's chilled out and his worst behavior seems to be long behind him.I don't think of him as a stupid person so it bewildered me why he got so upset when the paparazzi was hounding the most savy publicity generating and media manipulating woman of all time .

What can I say? I do like to whip it out every once in awhile.

He's skank bitch is what he is. Needs to bathe more frequently and buy himself a new personality with all that cash he rakes in by making all those **** movies. As an actor, he's too mannered and self-aware of what he's doing; I don't buy any of his performances. He tries painfully hard to act as if he's out of the Hollywood loop, yet he himself writes "OSCAR BAIT" across his forehead with a sharpie for everyone to see. Puhleeze.

I still haven't stopped getting terrors after seeing him and his **** band on Soundstage. Christ. And I thought Bruce Willis was horrid. Crowe makes him look like another Lindsey Buckingham.
