You should see "Anna," it only proves how stupid Academy voters really are. She was nominated for it, but ended up losing. Next to Ellen Burstyn in Requiem For A Dream, it's one of the best performances by any actress. She plays a famous Russian actress who moves to New York to make it big in America, but can't get a job. A Russian girl approaches her one day, can't speak any English because she's an immigrant, and tells her what a fan she is of her Russian movies. She takes her in and teaches her English, gets her jobs, but then the girl starts stealing Kirkland's jobs and sleeping with her boyfriend/manager, etc. It's a truly great film. The ending is heartbreaking!!!

that sounds great!!! And i'm still pissed miss fiorentino wasn't nominated for Last Seduction...

Ellen Burstyn is always great, BTW.

I think Linda's role in Dogma was dreadful, though. She really needs a bunch of star vehicles where she doesn't have to pretend to be nice, a la Bette Davis.

She is phenomenal in those roles.

I met him a couple of years ago. He was speaking at a church I went to a few times. I have a picture of me (bleck, I look disgusting!) and him. He was VERY sweet and quiet. His wife, Amy, is stunning.

I had a crush on him back in the early 90's. I loved him in the movie, Vice Versa with Fred Savage....where they switched bodies, ala Freaky Friday. He's also pretty cute in Beverly Hills Cop. He's a dorky cute. LOL

Huh. I like Dogma - it's actually my favorite Kevin Smith film...BUT I've never seen LInda Fiorentino in anything else so I really have nothing to compare it to....did like her in Dogma though....

They're hard to find, at least for me. Actually, lately I've noticed that the guys I'm most attracted to are the ones who look the most like me. I don't know if that's narcissism, or what.

The reason they didn't nominate her was because it premiered on cable.

I think Faye Dunaway, Sigourney Weaver or Anjelica Huston can do that pretty well too

. I like Linda Fiorentino but she tends to be typecasted; a skilled director and a well written role in a drama or a comedy could help her to remember Hollywood what a good actress she is, IMO.
