"Natural Cures That "They" Don't Want You To Know, Revealed." - Kevin Trudeau.
And for light reading, my Yoga magazine.

Just finished Sue Miller's The Distinguished Guest, still slowly reading Obama's Dreams From My Father. It's very interesting, but I haven't had much spare time to read lately. Stupid TV.

I am reading the second of two vintage gay porn books I got at an antique store. So cheesy, so nasty. It's called The Muscle Lovers.

reminds me of the time when i was 13 and my christian aunt took me to borders. i grabbed a gay erotica paperback off the shelf and started reading it out loud to her. she never took me back to borders.

right now i'm reading performing songwriter magazine. no, i am not a performing songwriter. but it had a thing about patty griffin inside and mary j blige was on the cover. don't hate.

I'm about halfway-through "The Real Bettie Page," by Richard Foster. It's not a bad book, but the way it's set up is weird, which made me struggle through the first few chapters. It's a rather-depressing read, though.

I might start "Love, Janis" by Laura Joplin tonight. I picked it up the other day but haven't read it yet.

I just finished re-watching the series this evening and was just thinking I ought to pick up the book and see how the two compare.

I've never seen the series, but am going to rent it probably next weekend. I saw a clip on YouTube and was already annoyed that it was COMPLETELY different than the book...different characters, characters doing different things...

But I'll give it a chance, you can't really tell a whole lot from a 2 minute YouTube clip.

Really? Huh. I've always loved the series, especially the character "Fiddler," played by Louis Gossett, Jr.

I guess I really will have to read the book and see for myself.

I am looking forward to seeing it, I need to just open my mind and realize it's not going to be exactly like the book.

The scene I saw on YouTube had fiddler in it, complaining to the Massa about the whipping of Toby or something...it was odd. Though fiddler was in the book, he was never in it in that context...

Either way it was a great read...and I've heard great things about the series...

I just finished Joan Didion's "The Year Of Magical Thinking"--
just an amazing mediatiation and report on grieving and relationships.

I am just starting her collection of non-fiction, "We tell Ourselves Stories In order to Live"
