I have only heard this title mentioned in verse once before- in Jane Siberry's "Mimi on the Beach." It's a really tortuous phrase to pronounce; an abundance of sibilance, if you tend to lithp, er, lisp like me.

@Wildaboutmusic Is "Wide Sargasso Sea" a good song? Is it even the song title?

Wildaboutmusic
It is a song title -- based on the book and movie. It's very good -- but not my favorite.
Man, this is sooo confusing. If this is true, she gave a conflicting report today on a radio show. Wide Sargasso Sea was supposed to be the first song they wrote together and on the radio show she said the name of the song is You May Be The One.

Where did she say that Wide Sargasso Sea was the first song they wrote together?

She said it in early interviews that they got to talking about the the movie and ended up writing the song in like 30 minutes and it was the first song they wrote on the album. Now, I'm not sure if they started talking about the movie because she wrote a poem about it or what.. I'm totally confused.

Like I said in the other thread, she has a history of calling songs something different from the "official" title - Storms (Always Been a Storm), How Still My Love (In the Still of the Night), etc.

But I like it as a title so much better than "You May be The One". I'm sort of bummed, if we get something so generic in its place. Well, I guess it doesn't matter as long as the song is beautiful.

Or Stevie. Which would make song introductions very entertaining.

I would probably always think of it as Wild Sargasso Sea, instead.

I wonder if it will be like "You're Not the One" LOL!

Can she come up with some new concepts, please?!

It looks like Wide Sargasso Sea really is an actual song title. You May Be the One is something else completely. They have two seperate shooting schedules based on those songs, so Wilde gave correct information. Does that only leave 1 song now?
