Oh, I know it was tongue-in-cheek, David! I could tell by the little posticons. LOL I was just saying I don't condone anyone doing it, let alone Lindsey. I'm ready to rock!!

The only two incidents I have heard of of alleged violence are the Rhiannon Tusk tour incident and the TITN tour incident, which all parties, except Mick "I'll say anything if it'll get me a buck," have denied lead to a complete "ass whipping" I think Stevie was perhaps speaking figuratively, although, again, you never know. Oh to have a fly on the wall!!!!

LOL...ok not to make light of this..cause hitting women is NOT a good thing..but it just kills me how everyone is taking sides on this..gimme a break..have you ever not wanted to kill your current or ex bf/gf? Not literally..but just...you were SO mad that you flipped?? It is ridiculous to just assume Stevie was having recovery problems..or that maybe Linds is violent...it is obviously resolved now..so let it be.

I think they both gave it as good as they got. I can only imagine what things were said between the two of them. As Stevie was quoted in Rock Lives:

"We said too much to each other. We said all the things that we had wanted to say for the last ten years, and we screamed at each other. Those things in a relationship that you try to never say just in case you do get back together. We said those things."

I recall in Mick's book that there was a mention of another violent event - no details, though. At least that was the implication. After recounting the "slap" the book went on to say something like "it wasn't the first time". So who knows?

AMEN! I couldn't have expressed it better myself. Now how ironic is it that Stevie fans are often accused of seeing her as being infallible? This really takes it to the next level though, only obviously reversed.

But then again it is very silly to take sides over an argument that took place 15 or so years ago that has long since been resolved, and that we were not involved in in the first place.

Default Weren't there allegations of LB hitting his girlfriend?

It must be 10 years ago - but an ex-girlfriend of LBs was on a talk show - maybe Donahue - and she was talking about being physically abused by him. I think it was the model girlfriend he had around the time of Law and Order. I know people that know LB personally and they have said he has a very violent side that comes out when he drinks.

Wow!! I have never heard that. There seems to be an aspect of control in alot of his relationships with women. I had heard that it was cocaine, not alcohol, that tended to fuel his "agressiveness".

Interesting thread. I have read Micks book and at the time he wrote it, his interest must have been SN, because Lindsey had already left the band and was useless for Micks money machine, so maybe that made the story a little "unbalanced". On the other hand there is something about Lindsey... something a little dark.
I once read something rather interesting, LB did an interview in germany and said that he left FM for a reason that had nothing to do with creative freedom, or his own plans. He was desperately in love with Christine McVie and couldn't stand it anymore, she had just married and asked him to leave her alone. Stevie was not so happy about Lindseys romantic feelings for Chris, felt betrayed and freaked out. So this ugly evening happened.
I heve only seen this story once and I have no idea if there is any thruth to it, but I always found it an interesting twist in the FM history.

MissJanet, it's a little difficult to swallow that Lindsey could become besotted with the likes of Christine when he'd had a chick the calibre of Stevie. I have a soft spot for ol' girl McVie but then I guess that's the problem... she doesn't exactly incite a raging hard-on!

It's called masculinity

Let's not bring this thread into the gutter, Phil! Anyway, your 'hard-on' argument isn't easy to swallow either

Miss Janet - that's an amusing if not interesting spin on things. I suspected Lindsey came back to the Mac (especially Tango) for the Chrisitne connection, but on a mostly musical sense!

Could somebody explain to me how slapping someone would CALM them ?????
