Personally I hope the Rod thing dont happen. This will be a big mistake for her. She's got to till Rod . NO.Again I have nothing against Rod Stewart.
She's got to focus on promoting IYD with a FULL set list. Not a digest version. If she does she can ditch the covers and do tunes from the IYD cd.

P.S. I'm not in the mood to get slammed in the the head with one of Rod's soccer balls like I almost did at the Mohegan Sun show.

The only double bill I want to see is the elephant in the room...

...Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks.

I mean, honestly, I'm sure it's been said a thousand times, but what could be a better way to promote their new albums? Stevie has publicly expressed her "love" of Lindsey's new work. He collaborated on "Soldier's Angel." They seem to be on friendlier terms than they've been in years. They also have a huge body of work together with Fleetwood Mac -- plus the ace in the hole of Buckingham Nicks.

I'm prepared to be flamed, but from a financial standpoint, I think it would be viable as well. Stevie would have the opportunity to hit the same markets she did with Rod, and Lindsey could play larger venues without sacrificing his solo venture for the "Big Mac Machine." He could come out and do a solo set, then they'd do a few songs together (solo or Mac, whatever they desire) then she could do her set, then they'd close with a true blue Buckingham Nicks encore. To alleviate some of the tension, they could swap spots at each of the dates. (Shippers, note that I said swap spots...not swap spit. )

I have no worldly want to see with Rod ever again. His teleprompter-rific version of "Leather and Lace" hurt my soul. Stevie...either hit the road solo and do theatres, or rock the sheds with LB in tow!

I second the wish for a B/N tour.

Dave's album is dropping in June. Didn't he tweet something about the possibility of he and Stevie touring together? I'd much rather see him opening for her, than her opening for Rod again.

In a recednt e-mail my brother snet me (chain links?) Stevie said it would depend on how well IYD did. Also backstage at Oprah when I met her with Matt, she told me when I asked about her doing Europe, that for this tour she wanted to hit places she hadn't played ever or in a while. That was why they were doing europe. As for Casinos. Melissa Etheridge like Stevie is in the same boat.9re. ticket/album sales) Her upcoming summer tour is mainly in casino venues. (which I hate.) The reason (I'm told) casino shows are the way to go, is that they pay you even if you don't sell out. I think Stevie's ego is saying I played MSG, I'm not doing for ex. Beacon theater, (NYC) IMHO Stevie needs to get over herself and just promote the damn record properly. I wouldn't mind a B/N tour, but the problem with that is it would come off like a sort of FM show. I think this album is great and it's shame she isn't (so far) properly promoting it with a full on solo stevie tour. I think if she does one it will later this year.

Exactly...there is no incentive at all for Stevie and Lindsey to do work together as "Buckingham Nicks" (either recording or tour), when, at this point, "Fleetwood Mac" essentially IS Buckingham Nicks, with a famous rhythm section backing them up. And why market something as a "small machine" (BN) when the "big machine" can pull in bigger crowds and more money?

I'm really not feeling optimistic at the moment about her doing a tour in support of this album. No way for a BN reunion when he's promoting his solo stuff, he's just too selfish for that. So I say the most we can hope for are more Rod dates and an FM tour in 2012. What a shame . I mean seriously, it's almost June. Do you really see her all of the sudden announcing a summer/fall tour in support of the album? Anything's possible but I highly doubt it. Is this real or a nightmare? On a positive note since I'm the only person in the world who doesn't adore IYD I shouldn't be too disappointed.

Because they need to do the BN songs. I would even be fine with the FM bill as long as they did a BN segment in the middle, around Landslide.

The incentive at this point is personal and just for melancholy. I think they still have that - or at least Stevie does.

Oh I would love for them to tour as BN and do BN songs...but if Stevie can't do songs from the album she just released because people won't know them, then she sure as hell will need some MAJOR convincing in order to do a proper BN tour.

I think the latter scenario you suggested is more likely...FM doing a few BN songs. I think it's a longshot, and I would absolutely LOVE it...but Fleetwood Mac, to me, has not been associated with "risk taking" since Tusk.
