Exclamation Lmao!!

This is getting interesting.

Congrats to everyone who got raises! I don't get raises. I get paid by how much work I do...so....but I love my job, so, it's all good. I don't have insurance, though, which is bad.

Retail sucks, MFM. I worked at the Dollar General for 4 days then quit, and NEVER went back to retail.

So before she left I asked for a meeting and asked her how to go about asking for a raise. If I should go through her or the company I contract through. She said, "I'll put that in for you before I go." That was it. And she did it. It's about 4% which is pretty good. It's been 3 1/2 years but still, it's waaaaaay better than nothing! Thanks y'all for pushing and supporting me.

Well done! I myself have been with best buy for 4 years as of today, 4/7/06. I am due a "yearly review" and usually the raise is about a buck, so I'm looking forward to that...if my lazy boss will get off his bum and do it that is. Last year, my review was 3 months late. It's ok, cause they give you backpay, but it'd be nice to have it on time for once.

Oh Massey was being a bitch about letting me in. I had plenty of credits and all that, but they wanted a portfolio of work...which here in the states, your first 2 years is just basic courses...i have no portfolio on get into the program I want to. I could "fake" one...make up some drawings, etc...but I'd be cheating myself because I'd be that much behind all the other kids. They DO have an 8 week program to see where your skill level is at, and then you can gain admittance, and I am more likely to take that route.

But, to answer your question...leaving for New Zealand....in 8 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so ready to get out of here. Its like the last few months of your senior year at school.

Oh no, I'll be in NZ for 12 months...regardless of whether I get into school or not. I am hoping I either get a permanent work offer, or can get into school, because then I can apply for the appropriate extended visas and stay longer. Then again, I may not WANT to stay after 12 months...could get home sick, who knows? But I'm trying not to think about that, lest it ruin the experience for me.

Thumbs up Awesome!

Good luck with everything, Brandon. Hope it all works out. I would love to go to New Zealand sometime. It's on my extremely long list of places I wanna see before I, you know...go.

I'm pulling the "I can beat you up" card. And the "no cuts! I was here before you!" card. And the "you have won a beauty contest. Collect 10 dollars" card. And the Ace of Spades.
