Well split my vote because these are 2 of my top 3 favourite bands of all time (guess who's the other).

Shame on all of you!!! I demand everyone buy Electric Warrior by T-Rex and Avalon by Roxy Music RIGHT NOW!!!!

Bang a Gong was T-Rex's only major hit in the US but man, they've got some sex-ayyy music, particularly The Motivator, Life's a Gas and Jeepster. Oh and the reason why we haven't heard much from them recently is because frontman Marc Bolan has been dead for about 28 years.

And Roxy?? Jesus H Christ.....Avalon, Over You, Don't Stop the Dance. And Bryan Ferry's solo stuff is borderline erotic. Sigh....Slave to Love.

Seriously, this is your School of Rock assignment for the weekend and you'll all be better for it.

Ahh, that's right!

How the hell did I forget a tiny little detail like that?

Sorry Marc...

Well, I don't really care for Roxy Music all that much, but their most famous song, which I'm sure you've heard and just don't know who it's by, is "More Than This." It's not the lyrics that you'd probably recognize, though, it's more the tune. Kind of a mellow, fey 80s pop vibe. Can somebody post this song?

You think the folks here who've never heard of T. Rex will know who John Peel is?

I know T. Rex was never HUGE in the U.S., but I always thought they were one of those bands that people had at least heard of. Especially since there's so many Bowie fans on the Ledge. What do you think he's talking about in "All The Young Dudes"? Dinosaurs?

(I bet a lot of folks have probably heard "20th Century Boy" as well. I think I recall it being mutilated in some commercial or other.)

This is a difficult one, but I'm going to go with Roxy here...even though I do love T-Rex. I happen to think Bryan Ferry is cool, in a really stuffy, over-pretentious way. Plus, he has a really awesome voice, and I LOVE his songs. Marc Bolan was cooler, weirder, and more iconic, and his songs were awesome, but I just think Roxy is more my thing.

I have both box sets, by the way. Highly recommended. F*cking good music.
